This was my first time purchasing a car and Merlin made the process not only easy, but enjoyable. To start, he knocked 500 off the asking price right off the back; then after I committed to purchasing my car they noticed an oil leak. So instead of just shoving that off on me, he sent the car out to get that fixed on the house. Sure I had to go a few days without my car, but considering the cost of that repair, it was well worth the wait. About a week later I took the car into a shop to get some minor work done, and they had found an oil leak. I called Merlin up, and he had his guys check it out

I don't typically by my vehicles from smaller dealerships but I have to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised with Bettendorf Auto Sales and their salesperson Merlin. I happened to be driving by when this beautiful 2014 GMC Sierra SLT caught my eye. I tried to let it go but I kept thinking about it, so I decided to stop in to take a look at it. Merlin walked up with a no pressure approach, answered my questions, let me take it for a test drive and then let me leave without pressuring me into the sale. I am sure he could tell I was in love with the truck before I left but he played it cool. I

I had a great experience here. Merlin was knowledgable and transparent about the Toyota I purchased. He took time to explain the buying process and cost of the vehicle. When I returned from the credit union with a check, Merlin had gotten ahold of someone to clean/condition the seats, after I initially expressed that I was dissatisfied with the dirt build up on them. It's the little stuff like this that makes a big difference. Thanks for going out of your way to help a customer!!

I was in the market looking for a truck or suv 4x4.
I had a set amount i wanted to stay at and couldnt budge from the amount I had set. I came acrossed Bettendorf Auto Sales website and found a Dodge Durango. I made contact with Merlin, who from the get go was open and honest with me about the Durango, just on the phone.
I went to Bettendorf Auto Sales and looked at the Durango ( which the condition was what Merlin had stated ) and test drove it.
Afterwards Merlin and I were discussing the price, I told him what my budget was and what I had to be at. Merlin made that happen and i drove away

The service we received from Merlin Gehrke was superior and made this long distance transaction occur with ease. Our daughter's dearly loved 2007 VW Beetle Convertible was "t-boned" and totaled by an uninsured motorist that ran through a stop sign, instantly leaving her without a vehicle for college and work. Upon a search on Autotrader, Merlin had an exact matching mint condition, low mileage 2009 VW Beetle Convertible in the same hard to find gecko green tan top configuration.
