At BARN XO, we design and craft high quality furniture from premium reclaimed wood that is salvaged from aged buildings and barns. Our family business has been helping our customers implement beautiful furniture in homes and businesses since 2013. BARN XO is a family-owned furniture manufacturer that was humbly born out of our home garage in the Chicagoland area. It all started in 2013 as a fun project between to brothers who wanted to surprise their mother with a dining room table. Not before long, it became our family's passion to continue building beautifully timeless, eco-friendly furniture that others could showcase in their own homes.

Reclaimed Wood or Lumber has a past and has been used for buildings and structures from the 18th to the early 20th century. The wood is recycled and reused to meet today's ever-growing need for sustainable and eco-friendly homes and businesses. Today's century-old reclaimed wood emerges from a time when wood was in abundance, both in North America and Europe, and was used as a principal building material.
Kiln drying is a standard practice in wood production mills and serves to efficiently bring green lumber moisture levels down to "workable" range-moisture content levels to prevent the array of problems that can be caused by excess moisture levels in wood. Depending on the origin, species, and type of wood, the moisture content before kiln drying can be 15% or greater when we acquire it.

I had a custom table made and it turned out amazing. Barn XO was very communicative throughout the whole process. They addressed my many questions and sent frequent progress pics as well. Pickup and assembly was very easy as well. They color code the legs so you know which goes on which side. All in all a wonderful experience. Very happy with the new table!

I ordered a custom reclaimed wood desk from BarnXO. Of the companies that I looked at, they were the best balance of quality and price. I do have to say that the desk itself is really really beautiful and I am very happy with it. It didn't come with assembly instructions, but it's pretty straightforward to assemble (the holes are predrilled and they put stickers on the parts that you can line up to see what goes where).
However, the customer service leaves something to be desired. After I paid for the desk, it was radio silence for months. The estimate for delivery was 4 weeks, but

LOVE my table! It is PERFECT! The outcome was so good because Jerry made the time to work with me, listen and help with dimensions and style. I followed his advice and measured out the dimensions with cardboard. Helped me get to the right size table that will make me happy every day. The wood is gorgeous. Really well done and will be handed down.

I found what I wanted for our living room coffee table. It needed to be sustainable, simple in design, American made, and a piece of eye-catching originality. I got good ideas, more photos of the stain colors I was picking among, and had fun on the phone "designing" the piece with Jerry. It came very quickly and was completely simple to put together. I will post a picture of the companion console table when it is in place.
