In West Texas in 1922, partners J.D. Young, a sheet metal worker, and Frank M. Pratt, a plumber and pipefitter, teamed up to provide reliable HVAC services. When the growth of The University of Texas spurred a building boom in 1929 - while the rest of the nation was struggling through the Depression - Young & Pratt made the move to Austin.

THEY FILED A LIEN 10 DAYS AFTER THE BILL DUE DATE - DURING THE GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN!! Find a different contractor! I was pressed to use this company because of my condo association requirements. Just had them do work in December. When I finally got the bill they did NOT bill me accurately - they charged me for a full hour of work, when the guy only came to assess my issue and took 20 min. No physical work done. They refused to correct the bill, so I just said whatever I will pay it (didn't specify a date, just didn't want to argue about it anymore). We had a problem with our AC system cooling appropriately. We called Young and Pratt because they service the chiller unit for our condo complex. Amato was sent out to help us, and he determined that the water line was clogged. He flushed the line, and brought our AC system back to a good working condition. Beyond this, we had a drainage issue later. He responded to my call, and asked me about the drain pipe, and helped me figure that the drain pipe was plugged up at the sink...he didn't have to do this, but he did. Amato went the extra mile, while being punctual, courteous and all-around
