We're a diverse and visionary team, passionate about fulfilling the organization's mission of inspiring people to discover why design matters. We're a staff of architects, teachers, designers, administrators, historians, storytellers and lovers of Chicago. We're 450 volunteer docents from all walks of life joined together by one thing - a passion to provide an extraordinary experience to our visitors.

We're a board of trustees built of industry thought leaders. Together, we're the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) - the world's largest public architecture organization, working to promote Chicago as the global center of architectural innovation while creating programs that inspire the next generation of design thinkers. Services
Chicago is known around the world for its architecture. Whether you choose to explore our fabled downtown or one of the city's many distinct and charming neighborhoods, our expert docents will guide you by boat, bus, train or on foot and share the stories behind the buildings. Visit iconic skyscrapers, elegant hotels or the legendary houses of Frank Lloyd Wright.
The CAC Exhibit Voucher gives you access to two floors of imaginative exhibits at the Chicago Architecture Center! Print the voucher or present it to box office staff on mobile device within 60 days of purchase. All walking, bus and train tour tickets include one day of free admission to the CAC, to use within 7 days of your tour.
The Chicago City Model Experience is the star attraction in the Chicago Gallery, featuring more than 4,000 buildings and interactive elements that tell amazing stories of the city. Located on the second floor of the CAC, in the stunning Drake Family Skyscraper Gallery, Building Tall is filled with supersized scale models of famous skyscrapers from Chicago and around the world.
Tall buildings are a fact of urban life. Influenced by building codes, engineering and profitability, their design is often predictable. Behind the glittering skylines, generic high-rises-responsive neither to climate nor culture-now dominate many of.
We're so glad you are considering bringing your K-8 student group to the Chicago Architecture Center for an educational experience. If you are looking to book a workshop or tour for high school or college students, visit our Field Trips (age 14+) page. We ask that you make your request for a reservation at least six weeks in advance.
