We booked with Colonial Van Lines the first week of April. We told them we wanted to move during the last week of May. Plenty of time, Right? Wrong. It seems they are like the airline industry in that they overbook and cherry pick which moves they will complete ($$$). They left us hanging and during the last Week in May. They said they didn't have any trucks available. Talk about the stress they caused due to their mismanagement. We had to scramble and go with a company that we suppose to be top notch but ended up subcontracting the move with a bunch of jerks.

We started our move on Feb 8th from Reno to NC. We understood when the truck hit weather in the horrible TX storm, we understood when the rig broke down in Little Rock, Arkansas—what we cannot understand is the absolute lack of professionalism and action to customer service we have encountered since. Sales rep Kevin Unmacht will rip you off, don't use this company. What he does - he'll give you an extremely low estimate, and then when your move date comes closer he sends you an expired contract saying that because you didn't sign earlier you now have to pay a higher rate. He does this close to your move date so you have no other option. When times get tough these guys will screw you over. Do not use this company, they will rip you off! If I could give 0 starts I would (this is the only 1 star review I have ever given).

Using this company has been THE WORST Customer service experience I have ever had. They sent a truck that was too full to accept my entire load then took their time getting me the rest of my belongings. 3 weeks to be exact. They trashed my furniture, their loaders lost my parts box, left tape and trash all over my house then had the audacity to ask for a tip and went so far as to suggest a trip to the atm. These guys killed it for us. The busiest time of the year for moving, they were on time and perfection in execution. Moved from El Dorado Hills to Las Vegas. We had a large house filled with antiques, and the gentleman took great care in carefully and efficiently wrapping every piece of wood furniture.
Led by Daniel, they never stopped working except to share a few congenial words with us. Every member of the team knew their role, and worked diligently to complete the job by 3 p.m.

I had a horrible experience with this company. They work with Cal Van Lines for cross-country moves so beware of them too.
The cost almost tripled the original estimate. Found out it doubled on the day they picked up, so I was stuck.
I was told it would take no longer than 48 hours from pick up to get an updated estimate. I waited more than a week. The account manager told me the driver was waiting until he found a truck stop with a scanner to give us the new estimate. I was calling almost daily to get an update. Taking more than a week to do this demonstrates a profound

I had an appointment with Colonial Van & Storage (Allied Van Lines) on Friday, May 24th at 4:30 pm for a quote to move my household from California to Florida in mid-July. At 4:50 pm on that Friday, I called Colonial Van & Storage to make sure I had the correct date as no one had yet shown up or called. I spoke with Kenny who confirmed that I was on the calendar for that date and time and that the sales person, Kevin, must be running late. The guys that came to our place to load up our things were wonderful! Answered last minute concerns or questions with patience, worked at a good pace, friendly towards the entire family including our pets. Professional and friendly, careful but efficient, couldn't have asked for more on my first moving company experience!! The office staff from estimate to payment were wonderful, going above and beyond at times, to ensure our moving didn't encounter additional stress.

My experience with moving expands to include moving 3 different offices and my residence 15 times over the years using different moving companies. That being said I've NEVER worked with crews this FANTASTIC!
We were moving our offices from 4k sf to 16k sf which is a complicated and difficult. Once we started working with Roni, the pieces began to fall into place. On Thursday 1/18, Krystin and Kathy came in to pack up our minor stuff. They packed up so neatly and efficiently! I was worried that they would need help but all had to do was just relax and let them know what was needed to be pack. I like how everything was folded neatly and as well as packed all together in certain boxes. They were done in 2 hours! So fast~

I have moved several times within the last 14 years due to work and I must say that Mr Henry Hernandez of Colonial Van & Storage has been the best at packing my stuff. He handled each item carefully and packaged them thoroughly. I can tell he cared about making sure my stuff make them to their destination safely. We highly recommend this company for any of your moving needs. We used them to move our entire office not knowing what to expect and they handled our stuff with care. They paid close attention to our needs and made us feel very comfortable leaving our computers and equipment in their care. They practically did all the work by taking things down off the walls and taking desks apart and put them back together as we wanted it. An amazing experience with this company and specifically the three employees who moved our Doctors office, Rob, Tj and Jr.
All interactions with this company whether it be via phone or in person was professional. They showed up early, carefully moved the heavy Doctors equipment and transferred everything to the new office very quickly, and set everything up for us.

The movers themselves were fabulous. Quick, efficient, professional. As soon as they were done moving us, one of them made a phone call (to the office, I presume) and when he got off the phone, informed us that, "he'll call you Monday because he doesn't have a calculator." Considering that between my phone and my computer, I have TWO calculators, I found that rather implausible, but whatever.
