Instead of making an appointment to come evaluate the problem, he said what we own is a piece of junk and to buy a different brand. Not helpful at all when looking for a repair.

Blake and Silver Spring Appliance Service are what I remember tradesmen being when I was younger. He was on time, professional, uniformed, takes great pride in what they do and how they treat customers. We have a stacked washer and dryer that was squeezed into a closest witch Blake didn't have access to run any diagnostics. Based on his experience, Blake had the issue diagnosed and parts ordered with a couple of minutes of his arrival. The parts took a couple of days to come in and Blake came back and repaired our washer. They specialize in several brands and when buying new appliances

Kitchen Aide fridge stopped working. The owner, Kirk, called over the weekend and arrived when he said he would on Monday. He and his assistant were clearly knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. And I considered the price reasonable.
I don't know why you would go anywhere else.

The technician didn't call the primary number indicated to Whirpool, but called the secondary number to announce visit timeframe (12-2). I notified the primary contact about the appointment and he waited for him after taking off at work. At the time the technician got there probably 12, he knocked at the door when the only person in the house was temporary in the basement. He decided to leave. The technician called me back at 12:05 left a message and didn't bother to call the primary contact number, I called him back at 12:10 he refused to go back and just moved the appointment for

Prompt and professional service for my Kenmore dryer. Kirk even returned my call on a Saturday morning and told me how to easily determine if the problem was a clogged vent, as misdiagnosed by another repair service. Silver Spring Appliance is my new go-to repair company.

We had a problem with an electric oven that randomly stopped working. Kirk did a great job with the repair. He kept me in the loop as to his arrival time and was able to get everything up and running for a reasonable price. Would definitely call them again for service.

Great service and honest assessment of our washer & dryer. The service technician arrived at 9:02 am when I was told he would arrive between 9 - 11 AM so that was an excellent start. He quickly identified our dryer problem and fixed it. He told us our washer was nearing the end of its useful life and that we were better off replacing the washer than repairing it. All good.

What kind of repairman calls to tell you he's running late-- when he's only running towards the later half of when he told you he'd come instead of actually running late? Blake from Silver Spring Appliance! Leaky washer-- he could have soaked us for a ton of money. But instead, prompt, honest, professional and in and out for way less than we expected. Locally owned business, seems to operate by that not often found idea of be HONEST WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS and they will be back. Well, we're sold and next time something stops working, we're calling Silver Spring Appliance

The tech came on time a day after I called, cleaned undissolved detergent from my dishwasher filter screen and advised me to run with hotter water. He said I should not call him again, but buy a new washer as mine was beyond its expected lifetime and not worth repairing anymore.

My washing machine stopped spinning and would not drain. Ugh! I totally did not want to deal with this but, you can only go so long without washing clothes! After a week of trying not to think about my washing machine, I got on Yelp to read a few reviews for appliance repair. I decided to give Silver Spring Appliance Service a try. I live in Upper NW DC very close to Silver Spring so, I hoped my proximity to the company could get me faster service.

A-1 Service

Excellent, professional and prompt service! When your washer stops working, you need it fixed correctly as soon as possible. Blake showed up on time (actually a little earlier than the stated 9-10 am window) and immediately began working on the issue. He was knowledgable and also took the time to explain ways to prevent the problem from recurring. It's not even 10 am, and he has finished the job and I am washing a load of clothes. I will definitely use them again should the need arise.

I left a message two weekdays ago looking to schedule an appointment to fix my broken washer. 48 hours later, I still haven't received a call back.

Since the problem doesn't happen to be urgent, this wasn't a huge deal. I just scheduled an appointment with another company. But I was expecting at least a call back, even if just to let me know their schedule is booked up!

Had a lot of optimism for this one, based on the five-star ratings from all the other reviewers. My experience didn't match.

I made an appointment several days in advance. Talked to Kirk, who didn't seem to want to take on the job. The service window was 10-12 on a Friday.

Called Kirk at 11 on Friday, to get a sense of the timing. He said it was a busy morning, and he would be there closer to 12 for a repair that would take about an hour.

At 12, with no Kirk and no word from Kirk, I called. He said he was on his way from Capitol Hill (to Wheaton) and would be there at 12:30.

Like previous poster-Michael S. says: "a quick response and well done service" is what he looks for....

I can't agree more... As a landlord of a high rise condo, it is very important to respond quickly to tenant issues. Remember, they can take care of your condo like it's their own...or.......... you get the idea!

Refrigerator slowly on the blink and tenant tries to adjust it colder around XMAS week.... so far...okay....but...... eventually she's out a week's groceries.... OUCH..

There's two things I want in appliance repair: a quick response to my call and a well done service job. When our ice-maker went on the blink my wife called a different service that never responded. I called Silver Spring and within 24 hours the job was done, the appliance repaired and all was good. In short, you can't ask for more.

Plus my house was treated with respect, goods were handled the way we'd like and the price was right in line with what I expected.

Don't waste a call to a different service. Call Silver Spring Appliance!
