Since most driveway were installed decades ago we find that most of our customers driveways require removal of the existing asphalt, grading the existing base material, fine grading with additional processed aggregate and then paving. Although asphalt is the most common driveway surface, we offer other options such as pavers, gravel and oil & stone.

Services
Our company was started by Victor Bothwell in 1956 when he immigrated to the United States from Ireland. During the summer of 1958 he decided to return home to follow in his fathers footsteps as a dairy farmer. His younger brother Ernie Bothwell our current President, and his younger brother Gerald took over the company and guided it through decades of growth in lower Fairfield County.

I reached out to Darien Asphalt because of all of the positive reviews I came across on Google and other sources, including a referral from a friend of mine who used them for his driveway. Ernest promptly came by my home in April (same day I put the call in) and spent time assessing my driveway project, and measuring. He assured me he would provide a bid within a few days, which would include all options discussed. It is June, and regardless of countless follow ups on my part, neither Ernest, or Darien Asphalt responded to my emails or calls. As a result, I have moved forward with a different company
