Founder Steve Miles started Miles Excavating in 1983 when he traded in one kind of horsepower for another. The former rodeo competitor sold his beloved quarter horse to buy his first back-hoe, and a career in excavating was born. Many back-hoes later, Miles Excavating has grown to a 160-employee firm.
