Styron's Tree Service

They are not able to provide decent estimates. Was quoted $175 per hour with a two hour minimum. But when asking how best to estimate the amount of time required a project for my budgeting purposes, the woman who answered the phone said rather rudely “well, typically you’d be home when the work is being done, and when they reached your budget, you’d ask them to stop”. That was an insane answer. I hung up and will be seeking service elsewhere.

Styron's is a known name in Carteret County. David Styron came out and spoke with me before the work. He was knowledgeable and interested in doing what was good for the home and what would hurt the trees as little as possible. His employees were on time and delivered on David's promises. Recommended.

They did a great job! Took down a huge pine in tight spot. Can't even tell they were in there after it was all done! Cleared some smaller trees and understory vegetation. Mulched it all up with the grinder and now it's ready for lawn seeding.

Awful experience. I'm very disappointed. Went with Styron Tree Service mostly because of the good reviews online but also the apparent lack of choice. Initially the experience was good setting up an estimate of the stump and tree removal job and scheduling the work months in advance. I needed the job done when I scheduled it because the home is a summer rental and it was the only week available. But when it came time to do the job they didn't. They didn't contact me to let me know they were not going to show up and then got upset when I called and complained. The workman provided a list of excuses

I hired them to take down a hugh river birch. They came on 8/15/2018 at 0800 am. From the time they got there, they worked hard and had the tree completely cut and the branched chipped. They picked up all debrie and racked the area. They were very professional, Safety minded, friendly, and did an outstanding job. I highly recommend Styrons .
