Chris Tammany started in the pavement maintenance industry in 1989. He ran a small sealcoating and cracksealing business for four years. During this time, he established a relationship with the previous owner of Petra. At that time, Chris and three other crew members began to pave residential driveways.
Chris was running the office from his home in Sandown, NH. Each year Chris continued to build Petra's reputation. With every successful year, Petra acquired equipment and crew members. The office was relocated to Plaistow in 1999 which included a full time person to answer the now busy phones. In 2000, Petra separated the crew to create a pave and prep division.

We recommend that you keep automobile traffic off the pavement for 2-3 days initially. If we are experiencing hotter than normal temperatures, it is best to add an extra day. We suggest building up the sides of your driveway with topsoil or gravel. This will give the driveway support in case someone accidently drives on the edges of the new pavement.

Petra performed the work in September/2018. The driveway was 30 years old and showing its age. The folks performing the prep work and asphalt application were all great(courteous and professional). Chris's estimate was very reasonable among the (5) estimates I obtained. The original slope of driveway had water going toward my garage doors as my garage is under the house and driveway slopes down from the street. It is now the end of Feb/2019 and we've had a ton of rain this past Fall/Winter and have had zero issues with water runoff coming near doors. The prep work was excellent/accurate and the

I have never felt compelled to post a review as I do regarding my experience with Petra Paving. I just had my driveway completely refinnished, and I'm SO happy with the results. Petra's job quality and professionalism are first class, and I strongly recommend them. My only regret is that I can only give them 5 stars. They deserve 10.

I can't say enough good things about Chris & Brian and the workmanship of their team. They paved our driveway in late fall of 2018 and it was a beautiful job. Unfortunately we live on a lake with wetlands on each side of the driveway and there was sever heaving during the winter causing water to go into our garage. Chris & Brian came out to inspect the driveway and immediately said this issue needs to be addressed. Their team came back in the summer after the ground dried out and removed the driveway to regrade it and repaved it with a steeper pitch. The workmanship was outstanding. Petra Paving

Petra Paving just recently completed our extremely large driveway in their usual efficient and highly professional manner. Day one, 3 professional, neat gentlemen arrived to remove the old pavement and repair underlying ground structures (Boulder, logs etc.) and replaced the underlayment with new gravel. Each and every one of them was more than professional, and each was meticulous in making sure the edges were perfect and no lawn was damaged in the process. Day two, 6 gentlemen arrived and completed the driveway which included Two perfect layers of ashphalt. Again, each of them was more than professional

Total professionals! Petra completed my new driveway this October (2017). They were extremely competitive, easy to work with, and did an amazing job. It all starts with Chris, the owner, arriving at your door for a quote. There are no games and no secrets; he gave me a breakdown of the pricing, offered great suggestions, and printed me a map of my plan along with a quote right from his truck. On prep day his team arrived right on time - not a minuet early or late. I selected Petra Paving for our sealcoating based on their professional website and the fact that they do the work by hand (versus spraying). The owner came out personally to provide a quote.
