I am Andrew Winkel, owner of Winkel Lawn Care. Winkel Lawn Care and Landscaping (1.0) was officially started in 1998 by my older brother, Jay Winkel of Morton, IL. When he first started the business, our Grandma drove us around, from yard to yard, pulling the trailer for us. Jay stayed in the business until 2011.
After taking a short break away from the business, I decided to reinvent the business as Winkel Lawn Care (2.0) in 2013, planning to provide quality services to the Morton area. Jay will be working with me, lending his expertise from his years of doing business in the lawn care industry. As Winkel Lawn Care (2.0), we have fast-forwarded to the 21st century.

We offer a wide range of services, including: mowing, fertilizer applications, broadleaf weed control, core aeration, landscape maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, and snow removal.

This is the method of turf cultivation in which soil cores are removed by hollow tines or spoons to control soil compaction and aid in the penetration and distribution of pesticides. This is a great service to include with purchase of our Fertilization and weed control yearly program. All of our lawns are blade edged and string trimmed.

I used this business for the first time the other day. It was for fall cleanup. My yard looks fantastic!
I don't think it has looked so nice since I used to take care of it. They even left the acorns around
the timbers' edge, as I asked, so the squirrels and other critters could easily find them.
A friend stopped by later in the day to fill up water bowls for the wild life. She was excited about the front yard, which I cannot see, and commented that it looked beautiful.
I'm impressed and ready for the next project! I will be using their other services as well.

The father quoted my husband and when they came
to do the work, they did not do what was asked. When politely asked about this, they told us we were under quotes, threatened to dump things in our yard and told us they’d take us to court when the conversation was anything but polite and questioning as to why the quoted work had not been done correctly. They Came off as utterly insane and completely unprofessional. Having a contractor as a father and having worked with many professionals, this company was the WORST. Still have the horrific texts saved which I am willing to share with anyone curious

They did a leaf removal for me last year and did a great job. I then asked about tree removal estimates and he gave me an estimate. I told him ok and we can set the date. He has been giving me dates since Jan, putting me off, telling me i am next on the list, given me more dates, and now 5 dates later and it being May he has told me to call another company. No rhyme or reason. If they didnt want the job first should never have given me their own estimate and second could have told me months ago instead of dragging me around and now not answering my calls, texts, or emails. I find this very unprofessional

Winkel's removed an Ash tree on our property that Emerald Ash Borer was killing. I emailed them about getting an estimate and they came within a couple of days. I was emailed and estimate and I agreed to the service as long as they could do it before winter. They agreed and came within 10 days to remove the tree. What I liked most is that they kept us up on everything with a few days notice. Communication was excellent. The tree was removed and they cleaned everything up very nicely. We received the invoice for the services within a few days. This is how business should be done.
