John is a true craftsman, we had 3 dining room chairs re-caned by Lew Tut (See Lew Tut review) who recommended John to stain the new cane to match the original stain. We were very pleased with the result. We are considering having a vintage rocker restored by John. Furniture restoration is not inexpensive, but John's pricing is reasonable and he is expertise is pretty amazing. John works on his own, turn around time is not super fast, but I would not expect it to be, he works on his own and he clearly had a LOT on his plate. He is in great demand. I took 6 cabinet doors to John Franco to be stripped only. I had done the rest of the kitchen myself and was just tired of doing so much work. He told me he'd have it done in 3-4 days. Three phone calls and 1 month later, I picked up my doors. I was very disappointed that the old stain was not completely removed. One of the doors I had given him was mostly done, so he could see the depth of removal I was expecting. He told me if I wanted them sanded more I would have to do it myself, so I paid him and then sanded them myself. I won't go there again.

I have taken many a tired old pieces of furniture to be refurbished by Mr Franco. Some were absolutely demolished but all good old stuff... the kind you cant buy anymore! John made them new again, he really can work miracles! Things I thought I would have to throw away I have gotten years more use out of. Super professional, and reasonable pricing too boot.
