Paul didn't really set out to become a Handyman, he saw a need for his expertise. Previously, when employed as an Electrical Engineer, he was frustrated being a cog in a machine and yearned to work to his full potential. He left the position and decided to concentrate his efforts in real estate. He purchased a house and started to renovate it full-time.

Based on the reviews I picked the Handy Brit and was very satisfied with the work done. I had a wood floor installed and had them put the trim in that room as well. They installed the floor. Looks great. They painted the trim and installed it and then touched up the paint after. They put some caulking by the closet door on the floor to seal it. I was a little nervous at first but once they started I could tell it was going well. I would definitely use them again.

I have used The Handy Brit three times now. They are fantastic! They are always right on time, get straight to work and they want to make sure that it is done right the first time instead of just rushing through something . If they have questions - they ask. I can speak highly of the HandyBrit who was able to do a number of small annoying projects that have lingered for years. Both gentlemen did an amazing job on our condo in downtown Sarasota. They arrived on time and installed ceiling fans, hung very large pictures on the wall, installed large chandelier and various other fixtures. Top notch. Hiring them again for additional work in the coming weeks. Highly recommended!

Excellent job replacing interior doors and trim. Paul did the complete job from picking up the doors, painting and caulking trim (many contractors won’t paint) and cleaning up after the job was done. Everything looks beautiful and works perfectly. Highly recommend Paul and his crew and we will certainly use him again!!

We hired Paul (The Handy Brit) to do a laundry list of tasks prior to moving into our new house: install light fixtures, change faucets and door knobs, install a wood closet system, put new anchor screws into our lanai frame. He and his helper did them all, and well.
Their "office" (Paul's spouse) is super efficient too. Providing written estimates and fair billing. Paul showed up as promised, executed flawlessly, and wrapped up in time. Can't ask for more than that!

The Handy Brit did absolutely fantastic work for us. He was efficient, reasonable, honest, great workmanship, trustworthy in your home... the list could go on and on. He has done many jobs for us from repairing water damaged wood flooring, replacing rotting wood, installing new door hinges...the list is long and varied. This guy is a farce. Allow me to explain. I made an appointment to have him install an exterior door and here's what happened.
1) Paul, the "Handy Brit" doesn't show up, it's some other guy. I say "Hi Paul" and instead of telling me he's not the guy, he just nods and smiles and ignores the fact that I'm expecting somebody else.
2) I told Paul the door was fiberglass an inch too tall and would need to be cut down. The other guy doesn't know how to do this. So when I go outside to get something out of my shed, I hear him on the phone asking

We went through quite a few handyman company's over the past 17-years while living in the Sarasota area. Unfortunately finding one that is honest, on time, does the job they quote and having the finished product look as it should has proved ridiculously difficult to find. Then we recently found "The Handy Brit" and we would NOT THINK of using anyone else after hiring Paul several times over the last couple months to do various jobs.
