A cord of firewood should measure 128 cubic feet and generally has the dimensions of 4’ x 4’ x 8’ when stacked. What Pete’s described over the phone as a 1/4 cord or “rack” and available for pick-up measured 4’ x 1.5’ x 3’ in person. This is just 18 cubic feet, far less than the 32 cubic feet that an actual 1/4 of a cord of firewood should measure.
The “rack” unit of sale offered at Peet’s is also not in agreement with NM Law (see below). Furthermore, what was initially represented over the phone as 1/4 of a cord (32 cubic feet) was found to far less in person When questioned

We use Pete's Firewood and the benefits of having seasoned, uniformly cut pieces is something you do not find at the roadside firewood dealer. The prices are above what I would say is average, but this quality of product and service is well above most, if not all, of the Rio Grande Valley's choices in firewood dealers, so I gladly pay the going rate per cord.

My parents front yard was becoming more and more difficult to take care on their own. So, it was decided out with the grass and in with the Xeriscape!! Contacted Pete's Landscaping and they were able to come out the very next day for a estimate. When Pete's crew arrived to begin the process; there were several workers and equipment. This was in the afternoon. We didn't think they would get all the grass out. Yet, they moved at lightening speed!! At 5:00pm, they let us know that they would be back at 7:00am the next day to finish the job. They were on the nose at 7:00am the following day. The job

I rate this company no stars.... mainly because the experience our family had bordered on "elder abuse". There was a "hard sell" and a huge estimate (double of what the company that actually did it for) plus on top of the outrageous estimate, the process was literally NOT needed.... what was proposed was a long drawn out process, (10+ days once started - and the start time kept being pushed off for more than a month) ... come to find out the other company had the entire job done in 2 days! CRAZY!!!! Then, when it was asked to recoup the deposit, as services were not going to be rendered in a timely

Do NOT order from Pete’s landscaping! I spent $1000 on gravel, and before I purchased I brought them a sample of the gravel I needed matched (grey). They delivered the wrong gravel (brown). When I went back to explain that the wrong gravel was delivered they told me that there was a coating of clay on the gravel and it would turn gray after the rain/snow. Six months later my yard is multicolored and destroyed and I have to pay to have this removed and redone. (I’ve already paid over $1000 in labor!)
I called their office and the rude lady pretty much told me I’m out of luck. “It might
