Red Shovel

We used Red Shovel to place rock in a 10'x24' area on the far side of our home. They were quick and it looks great. They covered our patio so that the wheel barrels tires would not mark up our patio then they even used leaf blower to get off any extra debris left on the patio. Aaron, Hakeem, Nathan & Andrew were all very friendly and did a great job. Yes I would call them again.

I had a complete overhaul of my entire property done by Aarron, Hakeem, Nathan, and Andrew. They showed up right on time and these guys did some WORK, let me tell you! They pulled weeds, trimmed a TON of bushes/vines/trees, mowed, edged, blew leaves/debris, tore out some vegetation, and took down an entire pine tree. You can't even tell a big pine tree was even there, there did such a great job removing it and the stump. My property looks AMAZING! We had Red Shovel landscape the backyard of our new house. We needed leveling work, gravel, and we had a 25ft long 2ft high raised bed added along the back retaining wall with trellises and vines. The wall they installed was beautifully done. The work crew (team leader was Jerome) cut a huge number of stone blocks to get the wall to fit together just right. Everything turned out perfectly. We will definitely be using Red Shovel again if we ever need landscape work in the future.

Chris came out to give us an estimate for replacing railroad ties with a decorative block wall. We also wanted a dead juniper replaced, and some large decorative boulders added to the landscaping. Chris was professional, while giving us a detailed description of the work that would be done.
Tony, Walter and Chris were sent out to do the work in our yard. They were on time and worked efficiently to get the job done. I hired Red Shovel to get my front and back yard ready to sell. They did a fantastic and thorough job. They showed up on time and walked through the yard with my partner at the end of the job to look over everything. The yard looked so nice that I had second thoughts about selling the house!

Aarron did a terrific job cleaning up and trimming our very messy front yard. He was prompt, professional and extremely nice! He took out a huge photinia, which was not doing well and taking up too much space in our small yard, and he replaced gravel and trimmed up our other plants. Josh was helpful as well explaining our irrigation system and giving helpful tips. We highly recommend Red Shovel and their excellent employees!

Update: Today we had an irrigation service specialist, Josh, out to inspect our drip system, reprogram our control panel and replace some failed drip attachments in a few stations around the yard. He called ahead to coordinate, arrived on time and accomplished his work in timely fashion. I estimate his services saved us more than $120/year in water bills and prevented us from having to replace plants that were over or underwatered ($$$). He was very professional and his work helped to complete the previous service we had with yard maintenance.

Unfortunately the tree maintenance sector of the company is very unorganized. I have been having to remind them of the services every time so that they schedule the visit. They charged me wrong one of the times and they could not reimburse me due to their new system. They promised another free visit to compensate and still no show. Considering canceling at this point.

Unbelievably disappointed I paid for nothing! I hired this company to basically redesign the entire outside of my house. What a journey it has been. Every deliverable was late, major design considerations and elements missing from every design, specific ask and changes weren't heard or made, and almost never a contact when they were late. I'm still waiting on the latest design...now 2 months passed when they said they would be done. Scheduling was a breeze! Aaron and Tony arrived promptly this morning as promised and did a fantastic job with fall cleanup and winterizing my yard. I would not hesitate to recommend Red Shovel to friends and neighbors.

I contacted Red Shovel June 28th to get an estimate for my yard. I immediately received an email stating that Courtney, their happiness coordinator would call me back to explain my options and to set up an appointment.
Today is July 27th and I still haven't received my call from the happiness coordinator.

I had an appointment with Red Shovel at 10:30. The worker didn't show up until 11:00. When I said that he was 1/2 hour late, he said, "Well, I'm coming from another job." I said that in that case, he should have called me, and he didn't say anything. I would have been okay with it if he had called to let me know he was running late, but my time is as valuable as theirs, and I want to do business with a company that respects that.

We just moved and the sprinklers at our "new" house were a mess. Lorenzo came out and got us all straightened out. Thank you Red Shovel!

Very disappointed. Only reliable contact after signing up was from accounts receivable asking me where my payment was. Also, be aware that they give employees a $20 bonus if someone writes a positive Google review after the appointment, something that was mentioned to me often. The ads are great, but make sure you get everything they promise in writing.

I don't know why these guys only have one review. Everyone should be using them! My husband works 40 hours PLUS a side job, so there's no way he has time to do everything that Red Shovel did.

They arrived on time, did a GREAT job, and were really nice. The house looks just like it did when we moved in (and that says a lot, we've been here for a bit and haven't done anything to the yard. I mean anything.) Do yourself a favor and call them up, you won't be disappointed. Really!

Thankful for the work red shovel did in our front yard. They designed and laid a wrap around driveway and brick walkway to our front door. I would recommend them as their service was professional, efficient and priced well. Thanks!

I enjoyed working with Red Shovel. They came by and did a good job on my yard cleanup. I would definitely consider working with them again. They were a bit casual on the scheduling and were supposed to send an irrigation specialist around the same time but they never did. I guess I was sorta glad he never showed up because I saved the money, but still, what happened? The customer service people seemed really nice so I certainly have no problem calling back and getting it taken care of.
