We recently had John replace the kitchen floor and back splash. He is a pleasure to work with. Not only does he do meticulous work, when I couldn't be at home and needed my Golden Retriever to be fed, John pitched in.

John Parulis does excellent tile work. I recently renovated a bathroom and I hired him to re-tile the shower and the floor. I was absolutely thrilled with the results! In the shower John expertly tiled around a small window, added a fantastic accent strip of colored glass tile, and obtained a piece of quartz to build a two-tiered soap dish/shampoo shelf to flawlessly match my subway tile. John also managed to get a very uneven floor perfectly level before installing ultra-thin oversized tiles. When I suggested adding tile baseboards mid-way through the project, he made it happen without complaint

The previous review, which John begged me to write, was based on my experience in 2011. My most recent experience is a completely different story. Based on my most recent experience, I would not recommend John for any work. He owes me several thousand dollars for work not performed. He is apparently desperate for money and is willing to rip off a (former) friend of 8 years. I had to fire him. Unfortunately, because he illegally performed work in a state he is not licensed to work in, I cannot file a complaint with the licensing board in CA. I can however pursue other avenues.

I have all

Working with John has been a pleasure. He did the tiling for us in two bathrooms for a residential remodel project. From start to finish, John was reliable, a good communicator, and he's a true master craftsman. He's essentially an artist who truly cares about the work that he does and pays attention to the details.

We couldn't find a general contractor quickly enough to start our project, so we had to manage the remodel ourselves. Since we're not professionals, we had questions about how to handle certain aspects of the job related to the tiling. John was patient and generous

I've recently worked with John for the first time on a two bath remodel and I'm so glad I chose him. As a remodeling contractor I'm loyal to my subcontractors but when my usual tile guys was on vacation I gave John a try. John is now my regular tile setter. His commitment to detail and as important caring for my job site and ability to work well with other subs is a huge plus. John did a great job making sure his work came out plumb, level & square and in old SF homes that's not always easy. I also like the fact that he's personally involved in the tile setting you
