Gamburg's Furniture
Gamburg's Furniture has been a part of the Hatboro community, and a family tradition for more than 90 years. Originally located on North York Road, Gamburg's Furniture began in 1930 by Michael Gamburg, and has since been owned by three generations of Gamburgs. In 1946 the furniture store grew in size when his sons, Lou and Sam, joined their father to carry on the family tradition.

Soon the new store was moved to its present location, just one block south from where it started. Shortly thereafter, even the new store was out of space and large expansions were made in 1963. I joined my father, Lou, and my uncle, Sam, in 1962. In 1970 the store again was expanded. Now, after many more updates and renovations, Gamburg's has a 50,000 square foot showroom filled with all the latest in on-trend home furnishings.

Employing about 700 people in factories based in Galax, Virginia, and Elkin, North Carolina, we are extremely proud of the fact that 100 percent of our furniture is crafted here in the United States by American employees. In fact, Vaughan-Bassett is now the largest manufacturer of wooden adult bedroom furniture in the United States.
The American Craftsman Collection is Gamburg's exclusive new line of dining room furniture that is handcrafted with pride by Amish artisans in Ohio. It makes me very sad to write this review as my aunt and mom started buying all furniture from Gamburg's in the 1960's. So consequently, I have bought all the furniture for three homes and an office over the span of the last 50 years. I loved it and had my daughter using it too until...Gamburg's went down the drain...in every way. Their showroom is dated and dingy; their sales staff is lazy and not at all helpful...and their delivery men are rude and careless with mud on shoes and pulling in the driveway taking down trees. Found really nice floor mod Couch with double recliner with remote control with USB charger on each. I can adjust head and Lumbar Spine Support. Plus I got an Ottoman. Both marked down a total of $1,000 and will be delivered this Thrusday. If you order most Furniture new, there is a 10 Month waiting period due shortages because of COVID.

If zero stars was an option, I'd give 0. My sisters and I went In Gamburg's today. We were in there for 15 minutes and no one greeted us or asked if they could offer assistance. In my opinion, this is absolutely deplorable customer service. Needless to say, I won't be going back.

I am only giving a one star review due to the fact that they actually have a decent selection of furniture.

My problem started when I ordered a beautiful sofa from Gamburg's but received something way less than what I paid for. The couch itself was defective and the cushions didn't fit- there was visible gapping on either side of the couch because the cushions didn't reach.

When I reached out about this issue, I emailed Kate, the manager. She was very hard to reach. I often had to call and speak with other people, and ultimately it was exhausting. It took 6 months to get the

My family has been going here for 35+years and their customer service is not the same. I am all for giving the money to local businesses instead of the big box stores, but not impressed with the lack of compassion and understanding towards their customers. I canceled my order and went to another local business in Ottsville to purchase a mattress.

Still a wonderful family owned business that's been around for a long time. I love that they have service that you don't find in these chain furniture shops or department stores. The sales people really know the product and Gamburg's personally stands behind any issues you may run into. I love supporting local family owned business that has great products are competitive prices.I also don't feel pushed into a sale as I know the staff is not on commission unlike many of these other shops.

Never write reviews but had to on this one. We ordered a custom sofa from Gamburgs. It was delivered 6 weeks later which is how long we were told it would take. When it arrived, we hated the color! When I called to say we didn't like it, I was told they would take it back and we could order another. The only charge would be the delivery charge for the new sofa. I ordered another sofa which was delivered 6 weeks later that we love! Great store to do business with. I will definitely be back.

Couch lasted less than two years. Missed work while they sent a tech out to check the couch. Tech was extremely insulting. No response for a week. Received a call that they would do nothing including a repair. Spent over $2000 in one weekend. I will never make that mistake again. Poor quality and poor service when refusing to back up your products. This is one of many reviews I am in the process of leaving.

We have bought bedroom, kitchen, and family room furniture from Gamburgs and received quality furniture at a good price. If you go when the store is crowded, you will have to wait for service. We have experienced very good service on three different occasions. We walked out of a large, competing furniture store when they put inordinate pressure to finance our purchase. Gamburg's is our favorite furniture store.

This is my first review for a reason. I have honestly never received such poor customer service from a company before. The salespeople are rude and condescending on the phone and in person. My fiancé and I were informed that our bedroom furniture/mattress would be arriving in 1-2 weeks. That was 6 weeks ago. Every time we call the store to get an estimation on the furniture arrival, we are told to "call back tomorrow" or given a very ambiguous and unsatisfactory response. My husband and I have come in several times to look at furniture, but have never bought anything until recently. The sales people are very nice and the furniture selections are vast. Now, the problem: We purchased furniture from them in the beginning of May with a delivery window of 4 to 6 weeks, which I thought was long to begin with, but she explained that it was not in stock and had to get it from the manufacturer. I have been shopping at Gamburg's over 15 years now. Three sofas, leather recliner, three upholstered chairs, all still in great shape. Always a pleasant experience with very professional sales associates. Today I took a friend in to look for a twin sofa sleeper. We were helped by a sales assciate Hanna, even though she may of been fairly new, she was such a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable on the fabrics and so helpful. She guided my friend to just the right sofa for her. It was another pleasant day shopping there!

Not good enough. Ordered sofa and loveseat and was told Approx 6 weeks to delivery. However- 12 weeks later still no sofa and loveseat. Repeated calls result in more callbacks, excuses and blaming the manufacturer. Never once putting their customer first and making sure they are satisfied. Calls are short and they do not follow up on promised status. We will eventually receive our purchase but guess what? We will never go back to Gamburgs and certainly will never recommend. Would think 80 year establishment had better culture.

We would highly recommend Gamburg's to our friends and family. The reviews above may have felt like they weren't catered to at the door but we felt exactly the opposite. We loved that no one ran to us like we were fresh meat in the lions den. Everywhere else we went the sales people were breathing down our necks and made us feel really uncomfortable. They let us browse the showroom and a sales person came to us when she saw we were interested in a set (of couches). We were helped by Linda and she was wonderful. Horrific. Customer service was awful. I wouldn't even call it service. I called to get directions, and the lady seem so incredibly annoyed, sighing at the inconvenience. She told me I was nearby. Thank you. I am aware I was close, but since the store doesn't come up on the GPS, I might need a little more help than "you're close." I walked into this store today with my husband. We were not acknowledged by anyone. Several employees who were not waiting on anyone saw us and did not even say good morning. Eventually, a lady asked us what were looking for and she told us where to go and then walked away. I would never go back to this place.

I am on my second set of Family Room furniture purchased from Gamburgs. My first one is still in excellent shape and is now in my basement. Gamburgs has excellent customer service and a really nice showroom. They can custome order just about anything you want at a fairly competitive price. With our most recent purchase, we had actually seen a sofa we liked better at another store but came back to Gamburgs and found something there just because of their reliability. It turns out I do love the set I ordered and as always had no issues with the order or delivery.

Over the past 10 years we have made three large furniture purchases from Gamburg's. From a custom sectional sofa, to a coffee table and most recently a bedroom set for our son, we have been immensely pleased with all of our purchases. The customer service is wonderful. Delivery has always been handled perfectly and professionally. The bedroom set we recently purchased had to be assembled in our home.
