Boomgaarden Architects specializes in renovations and additions to existing homes, providing permits and construction administration services during your project, as well as historic preservation, custom residential and interior design. Most of the firms work has been in the Chicago metropolitan area and Villages along the North Shore.
We want to meet you AND your home. Doing so gives us valuable knowledge of what to anticipate. You'll then provide a plat of survey so we may measure your existing home and draw up the existing plans. With this information we'll perform the zoning analysis that may affect our designs or need for a variance.

We hired Drake to remodel our townhouse. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. Not only was the design aesthetic brilliant and more than we had even hoped for, he was also incredibly responsive and thoughtful in his approach. He would follow up on every aspect of the remodel both small and large to ensure our vision was executed and in addition to ensured that the project stayed within the budget and proposed timeline. Chad and Irv have been able to blend our old house with new lines and trends in a seamless manner. Innovative thinking, creative ideas, careful attention to detail, and familiarity with the north shore/village board/local rules and regulations are the key attributes why we keep going back to Boomgaarden Architects! We worked with Boomgarden architects to design a mud room and a three season room. Chad was wonderful to work with, very patient and able to easily conceptualize the look we wanted. He also had creative ideas that we never would have thought of on our own. He has excellent relationships with contractors, making the whole process seamless and completed within the estimated time frame. My experience with Chad is multi-dimensional.
I am a renovator and a builder of spec houses. In my experience, it's a bit of a rare thing for an architect to be able to do both well. Chad and his team did admirable, creative, and thorough work for all my projects.

We used Boomgarden Architects to renovate and upgrade our basement. Chad gave us a lot of good, practical and architectural design ideas. He also oversaw the contractor which was really helpful, as the project stayed on time and budget at high quality execution. I can highly recommend Boomgarden Architects for small and big projects.
