I have always loved construction, since the first house I built out of Lincoln Logs when I was about 5 years old. I grew up in a family of Electricians (Grandfather, Great Uncle, Dad, Brother, and Cousin). I worked some in the electrical field around the Dayton area, in GM plants, WPAF base, Chrysler, etc., but decided to take a different path as a General Contractor and I love it.
We don't take any money up front. You don't write the first check until your basement is completely framed up. Also if you need financing we offer it through Day Air Credit Union unsecured up to $25,000. 3. We use fire blocking foam on our fire blocking seams even though code doesn't require it. We don't just want to slow the spread of fire, we would rather it get starved from oxygen and go out.

When choosing a contractor make sure they are Accredited Better Business Bureau members, check out their complaint history, if they have a couple complaints it doesn't mean they aren't professional, just make sure they resolved the complaints.
If you aren't doing the job yourself, hire an experienced painting contractor to do the job. Now, just because the painting contractor is in the phone book or running an ad in your local paper or magazine, doesn't mean that he or she is experienced. Make sure they are an Accredited Better Business Bureau member so you can check their record, ask for at least three references and ask for their certificate of liability insurance.
Caulk around the outside of your windows if needed, make sure the temperature is above 45 degrees so the caulk will can set up. Buy a new more energy efficient furnace or water heater and get a $500 tax credit at tax time. Turn down your furnace thermostat in the winter, and up in the summer when the central air is on.

We reached out to Good Guy to finish our 500 square foot basement. Joe responded immediately and came out to see our space. We are on the tail end of our apx 900 square foot basement reno project and I am so happy with how things have turned out. Joe has been wonderful to work with, whenever I had a question he was always very responsive and 3 steps ahead. The guys were very professional, timely, and kept the work space clean. For the work that they have done I found the price to be reasonable. I am so grateful to Joe and his team for not only turning our dungeon of a basement to a beautiful living area, but to making the whole process as seamless and stress free as possible.

If you're looking for a company that is always on time, a great value, with high quality work with real Professionals then look no further! I had multiple contractors come to the house and Joe (the owner) was the only one that once i said we had a budget he didn't ask what the budget was. But Joe did suggest multiple ways to save money on our project. Then even without doing any scrimping his price was by far more competitive than any other contractor. I Highly recommend GG Home Improvement to anyone looking to have there basement updated or finished!

We used Joe and his team to finish an office space for my husband down in our basement. Joe was responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. Every single team member showed up on-time and let us know what was happening every step of the way. The workers were respectful and courteous and they even politely answered my kids' hundred questions about the equipment and what they were using it for. :)

After speaking with 5 different basement remodeling contractors, I couldn't have been more pleased with my decision to go with Good Guy Home Improvements. Their straight forward, honest approach in terms of pricing, scheduling, and work products were all top notch.

Joe and Brian at Good Guy Home Improvements are fantastic. After getting multiple quotes, we decided on going with Good Guy based on the reasonable and realistic quote. Other companies tried to sell more and gave ridiculous quotes. One company quoted us 50K without taking one measurement. Knowing the general cost of what it takes to do the work, these guys were very reasonable. Joe gave me a line item quote as I was deciding which aspects I wanted to do myself, and what I wanted them to do. They were not pushy about anything! Finishing my basement and needed the ceiling drywalled since I have a bad back and cannot install overhead. I got 3 quotes including one from Joe at Good Guy Home Improvements. He provided the best quote and with the 5 star rating, it was not a difficult choice. My job was a fairly small one but it got scheduled quickly. Joe's crew did a great job and finished the work in 3 partial days. They also finish coated/sanded the walls I had started for minimal additional cost. I will definitely use Good Guys again in the future when the need arises. I have included before and after pics.

We had a new house built with Ryan Homes, and their basement finishing options were pretty limited so we opted to have it finished after the fact. Based on a recommendation by our neighbor, we contacted Joe for a quote to finish off about 75% of our basement (leaving the rest for utilities and storage).
