A lot of times we are asked, "Will a palapa hold up well in the wind?" Palapas originated in hurricane regions in Mexico, Florida, the Carribean, and Polynesian Islands. They are perfect for windy areas. Palapas hold up in strong winds because of their venting affect allowing wind to blow through them while also creating a cooling sensation of 10 degrees or more.
We can professionally put a new layer on your existing palapa or we can tear off all the old and replace with palm layers to refresh your palapa. This is not something we have to do very often with our custom palapas because they are built to last. We mainly offer this service to customers that have kit palapas that did not hold up to our Arizona weather.

First we started out small and ended up with a 10' x 12' four pole palapa.
We purchased a palapa about 5 years ago in our former home from The Palapa Guy's. It was a two pole custom palapa approx 18 x 9 wide to cover our B-B-Q and seating area. The palapa was the talk of the neighborhood and was one of our better purchases for the house at the time. The Palapa Guy's were courteous, efficient and most importantly they understood our needs and their service was always first class.
We purchased a Palapa from The Palapa Guy's and what a difference it made in our back yard. It feels like a resort. We have coffee under the Palapa in the morning and a drink under it in the afternoon. It gave us shade and softened the back yard, we have a pool that is really beautiful but when people come over they always point at the Palapa and say, "That is so cool."

Nothing but great things to say about Richard and his team. He's the perfect man for the job, you can tell he loves what he does and his attitude puts you in a tropical mood. He was very attentive to what we wanted to build and came to the house several times throughout the process to make sure we got it right.
I've always wanted a tiki bar and boy do we have one. It absolutely makes a statement but better yet is the quality of the build, this thing isn't going anywhere for a long long time and every single piece is custom, nothing was prefab.

We had a palapa re-thatched around a grill/bar in December 2019. The work and communication were pretty prompt so we were happy in the beginning. Unfortunately, the thatch was hung too loose and too low and over a few months of settling in, it got worse. Large dips formed between supports that catch leaves and birds sit in, and it hangs so low we have to duck to walk into the grill or sit at the bar.
I called in May to have it looked at and was told the crew would be in our area a couple weeks later so someone would call me. That time passed with no communication. I called/text one month later

I just had my single pole Palapa put in and I love it! Better than expected and Tommy the installer knew his stuff. I was concerned about drilling the hole into my travertine but they brought in the experts and it was done perfectly. I am considering a second one at a later date. It looks great! I would strongly recommend the Palapa guy for any kinds of Island feel you are looking for in your yard.

These guys were awesome They responded to all my question on Facebook right away and followed up with a quote immediately. They showed up two days later and installed exactly what I wanted. We have a beautiful Palapas now in the back yard. The price was better than I thought. I wish I had not waited so long. This was the easiest thing I have done in awhile.

I own a preschool and needed shade for a newly remodeled playground. Super happy we picked The Palapa Guy. Read on the learn why.
We had bids for traditional shade canopies and competitive bids from another palapa company. We chose The Palapa Guy for one reason: Quality.
Traditional shades served the purpose of creating shade. But, a palapa gave us shade and a really cool look. Our children and parents love the look. We chose The Palapa Guy because they didn't cut corners. With young children playing around the install site, we had to be 100% confident they would be safe. We are glad

I absolutely love our 4 Palapa's from The Palapa Guys!! They are very generous, trust worthy and HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL. They get things done promptly and in a timely matter. I have never worked with such a great company that has the BEST customer service! After doing my research and calling a few other companies and after speaking with The Palapa Guy company I was very IMPRESSED with how kind and trust worthy they are from just a phone call inquire about exactly what I was wanting. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new palapa from The Palapa Guy! Very professional. It is always very important to me to hire legitimate contractors that are licensed, bonded and insured. In my research, this is the only palapa builder in town that fits this criteria. They did exactly what they said they would do, on budget and on schedule.
