APEX Wood Floors specializes in highly-customizable hardwood floors of exceptional quality that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship. In the summer of 1985, John Lessick joined APEX Wood Floors as an apprentice. He spent the next nine years learning every facet of the business before purchasing the company in 1994.
Over that period, John developed a profound respect for wood's natural beauty and achieved a masterful command of the complete finishing, production and installation process. Thanks to his expertise and vision, the business has blossomed and evolved, growing from 5 to nearly 25 employees over the last 25 years.

John is the past chairman of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and is an industry partner of the American Society of Interior Designers, Illinois Chapter (ASID-IL).

An enthusiastic 5 out of 5 for Apex Flooring's team of very qualified installers and finishers. Apex was tasked with installing 3000 square feet of 300-year-old white oak flooring in a 100-year-old building located in the Central Business District of Chicago. To say their work is magnificent would be an understatement!
Work included installation of a full sub-floor, glue and nail of 2-1/4" wide quartersawn white oak flooring (including a tricky 600 square foot living room in a herringbone pattern), staining and sanding.

This is the fourth time I've used Apex for my wood floors. These guys did a fabulous job with my two bedroom's oak floors.
Alex and Kevin got the job done within the quoted time. They were extremely punctual, thorough and cleaned up the area very well each day. Job was completed exactly on time.
I will hire them a fifth time when I need them! No wonder they've been in business since 1982!

I used Apex 15 yrs ago and was very pleased. I now. needed installation of one room of hardwood flooring, and refinishing of the three rooms of adjacent hardwood they installed 15 yrs ago. I called and set up an appointment, and she was pleased she had found the record of my previous installation. It was two weeks until my appointment ( my choice). The morning of scheduled appointment, some one else called and said she couldn't come, basically because she was out later than expected. The appointment was scheduled for 9:30! Apex is the very best. We had two floods in our condo, one from an unsupervised kid backing up the toilet above us and the other from a burst humidifier. The restoration company had to tear out large portions of our hardwood floor in two places. Afterward, Apex came in and replaced and refinished the flooring seamlessly. You cannot tell at all. The new floor and finish blends in perfectly. Highly recommend Apex. Nice people, too, which is an added bonus.

I was looking into installing hardwood floors and I drive by Apex all the time so I decided to stop in. Just like the last reviewer, they show you all their work in high end homes, references, etc. etc. I told them I just wanted one room done (approx. 600sqft) and asked for a basic quote. Remember, I'm only looking at 600 sqft... They quoted me $25,000!!! Really?! No thank you.

When you go, drive your best car. My husband and I are from a neighboring state. We undertook a huge remodeling project for two rooms. Since we were at the Miele showroom fairly close by and saw an advertisement for Apex, we decided to give it a try. It's a small shop but as we found out, it apparently caters to people who have a little more dough then they perceived us to have.
