What started as a modest home renovation project 20 years ago has grown into a company that has redesigned and built hundreds of homes in Rochester, New York. My brother and I observed the lack of communication and attention to detail that existed with traditional construction companies. We knew there was a better way.

For 40+ years we have envisioned giving a 1900s cherry mantelpiece (purchased when we were graduate students) a permanent home. In 2018, we began our search for a renovation team that would provide consultation on incorporating our antique architectural element into a newly envisioned living room wall. We had an excellent experience with Norbut Renovations. We used Dave Norbut to renovate the kitchen and main floor of our home. Dave is very detailed oriented and an excellent communicator. We hired Dave as the contractor to complete a design project previously proposed by another designer. Dave’s team took that design and came up with a plan that was way more functional! This project involved a roof tear-off raising our master bedroom walls and ceiling to give us an on-suite master bath and walk in closet all while we (a family of five and a dog) were living in the house through the construction.

We used Norbut now for two renovations- the main floor of our home, and then about 1.5 years later for our basement. We have been impressed by not only the quality of the work, but the personal attention and follow through we receive from Dave and his team.
