Following her husband's death in 2000, Karen Ball operated the business, but after being with the company for 35 years, she felt it was time to turn the firm over to new leadership, and sold the company to Bill Efird, who brings a wealth of local industry experience to its helm. Under the Ball's ownership, Air Therm HVAC developed a sound and respected reputation.
Bill Efird is the owner of Air Therm Savannah. His extensive background in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) business was instrumental in his being selected to take over ownership and management of Air Therm from Karen in 2015. Bill first worked as a dealer consultant for the Trane Company from 1970-1975, then founded Coastal Air Conditioning Service, Inc., which he owned and operated until 1996.

In order to make certain that we have technicians available to meet your service needs when you need them, Air Therm Co., Inc. focuses on repair services and replacing equipment that breaks down rather than spreading itself too thin and getting involved in new construction.

Most air conditioners have their capacity rated in BTUs, or British Thermal Units. A BTU is, generally, the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree F. Specifically, a BTU is 1,055 joules, but the first definition is easier to understand in real-life terms. One "ton", in heating and cooling terms, is 12,000 BTUs.

Tyler from AirTherm did a great job determining the issues with our A/C system and giving the information to make a good decision on repairs. He also evaluated the ductwork in our crawl space and determined that minimal repairs could fix some airflow issues. I appreciate the time and effort that he put into this work.

After dealing with a horrible experience between my home warranty company and another AC company, AirTherm stepped in and saved the day! Everyone was extremely professional from the supervisor to the techs. If I had a question, they were there to answer. I could always get a hold of someone and they gave me their honest opinion. I felt at ease knowing I was not being taken advantage of. Awesome company and even greater people!

When I was considering replacing my furnace and also my AC, I called AirTherm for a quote. Austin came out and was very informative and helpful in determining what I needed. My experience with air therm was fantastic. Austin made me feel very comfortable when he was insecting my unit and diagnosing the problem. Tyler and Luke were the two gentlemen who came to install my new unit and they were very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend them!

Ronnell & Von from AirTherm just left a few minutes ago and my brand new unit is blowing COLD! 👍🏽 Fantastic Service.
This was my first time having to replace the AC in my home. From the first call with Scott to the moment the team left they were friendly and professional.
After they did the install I noticed the system making a small whistling noise. When I pointed it out to Von he promptly checked and found a tiny air leak and applied an extra seal. I greatly appreciated this attention to detail.

Mark from airtherm came to my house today to give me a tune-up on my AC and he did a great job he was very courteous and very proficient he caught a few items that needed addressing and he took care of those and had my AC blowing good. He also found a possible failure with a board that could happen so instead of waiting for it to fail, he will schedule a time for it to be replaced. I'm very thankful that I'm not going to have any problems this summer and my house will stay cool this summer. Mark also got me signed up for the comfort club so I won't have any worries.
