Services
Many generations of Silliman's have been building and repairing the city of Louisville. John Silliman continues that tradition as the 7th generation of masons in his family to offer his expert chimney services. Silliman Contracting Group was created to bring quality and integrity of work back to the masonry repair and restoration business.
At Louisville Chimney Sweep & Repair, LLC, courteous professionals are prepared to provide you with the best in chimney sweep services. Our IMI-Certified Chimney Sweeps are trained and insured and have the expertise to handle all of your chimney needs.
Have you noticed signs of water intrusion around your chimney or in your fireplace? Water stains around the fireplace, small pools of water in the firebox, and water in the attic or around the base of the chimney are all indicators of a leaky chimney. Louisville Chimney Sweep can solve the problem!
Many injuries and fatalities occur every year due to unsafe, neglected chimneys. On average, the loss of property from chimney fires costs an estimated $200 million annually. A damaged, blocked, or deteriorating chimney can lead to a hazardous chimney fire or exposure to hazardous fumes. The recommendation of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is to schedule chimney cleaning and a chimney inspection every year.
The chimney liner is arguably the most important component of the entire chimney system. Its function is to remove smoke and combustion gases up and out of the home while protecting vulnerable parts of your chimney system. A chimney liner is non-combustible and must be entirely intact, to perform safely and efficiently.

I have called and emailed over the last 2-3 weeks and no response. They seem to either be out of business or don't want business.

I waited to write a review to see how our chimney did through the winter/spring months. our chimney was leaking into the inside when it rained or a hard snow. We had our chimney repaired in October 2020. We have not had one issue since the repairs. Very impressed with this company. They were here on time, professional and cleaned up all of their mess. I highly recommend this company.

I would recommend this company for any chimney repairs you need. Their price is affordable unlike other places I looked at. The installers were friendly and explained what they were going to do and when they were finished they provided me a picture of the finished work. Very Professional!

This is a 10 star company! I highly recommend them for any and all things fireplace and chimney repair. Hands down, John knows chimneys inside and out. We hired him to conduct a Level 2 inspection on the fireplace and chimney of a home we we're buying. Significant problems we're identified that unfortunately a large, very popular chimney sweep company in town had previously worked on. We are thankful for John's diligence and communication with us answering our many questions. He's very down to earth and easy to communicate with. It's a real shame that fireplace construction is not regulated in

When it comes to structural concrete repairs, or masonry repairs John is the go-to guy in the Southeast. He works on major projects like football stadium concrete and does a great job on the family chimney in your home too! Highly recommend.

Recently had Louisville Chimney Sweep and Repair come out and fix my chimney. My house was built in the early 70's and the top of the chimney was starting to crack. I called LCS&R to get an estimate on the repair. They came out promptly, gave a very reasonable estimate. Came back right on time for my appointment to fix the chimney. They did a great job. Left no mess. Didn't charge any more that the estimate. Very courteous. I would recommend them to any friend, and if the need arises in the future for more work, they will be my first call. Very pleased with the work.

John came to inspect three chimneys on a historic structure which required two days to clean out a massive amount of decades old broken brick, sand, bat and bird remains that were blocking one of the flues. He and his assistant were knowledgeable and took steps to contain dust and discard the debris. They got back to me quickly with several options for dealing with various chimney and flue issues in the future and they did not charge me anything for all of the work they had to do to access the situation.
