Eric Chen obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 1986. He graduated with full honors and was named to both the Deans Honor List and the Presidents Honor List. After graduation, Eric worked as a designer at Collaborative Design in Los Angeles before joining JWDA as a lead designer
