Clyde Leslie "Les" Smith founded Rid-A-Pest in 1972 in the garage behind his Wilson, NC, home after becoming one of North Carolina State University's (NCSU) first graduates the university's Urban and Industrial Pest Control program. As the son of a world-renowned entomologist and head of NCSU's Entomology Department, Les knew he wanted to pursue a career related to insects and management.

Rid A Pest is always on time. In 15+ years, they've never been late. Always polite & the staff is friendly. Since they have been treating my home I have never had any bugs or termites nor any other issue related to their services. And the mosquito treatment makes a positive difference in our back yard.
