When your family or business experiences a disaster such as flooding, a fire, or storm damage, you must have a trusted disaster and restoration company in your corner. We provide 24/7 emergency services to everyone surrounding the Novi, MI area. Containing the disaster and protecting your home from any further damage is our first priority.
We want to help you understand the process of home restoration and what you can expect from our company as the repairs to your property begin. The property owner signs a work authorization which allows us to perform the necessary repairs. Our restoration company will work with your insurance adjuster to reach an agreed upon scope of repairs.
An M.J. White & Son employee will walk through the loss area with you and determine the affected areas by visual inspection and by the use of non-penetrating moisture meters and penetrating moisture meters. You will be requested to sign a Temporary Emergency Repair Agreement to authorize us to perform the necessary emergency dry down work and to bill your insurance company.
As a result of water damage, mold grows on damp, moist surfaces such as walls, ceilings, and underneath carpet, to name a few spaces. We had some water damage into our family room to due ice dams. We could not be happier with the work MJ White did. Angie and Dave worked tirelessly for two days, removing damaged drywall, reinstalling lights, patching drywall seams, priming, and painting ceilings and walls.
They covered everything to protect from drywall dust and paint, including all floors, book shelves, and furniture.
Their clean-up was impressive!
Attention to detail and follow-up by the entire team was great!

Writing my 1 star review again since it was deleted - further proving what kind of company this is. These people are absolute trash.
Between MJ White and the flooring company they contracted out for my project (Dob's - to be reviewed next), nothing was properly communicated. MJ white would not quote any other samples so I only had one option to choose from. I was more than willing to pay extra, depending on how much, for better looking flooring, but MJ white and the flooring men would not work together to get a quote. MJ White employees and especially operations man are dishonest, demeaning, habitually

We had a flood in our bathroom in June. The estimation process was fantastic. As soon as it was handed off to co-owner to communicate with the insurance company, everything fell apart. The insurance company never received an estimate after several attempts. After the last attempt, when I assumed we were good to go, as I got an insurance check supposedly generated from the estimate, I asked them to put me on the schedule. I called back recently to check in and the co-owner told me the case was closed in July, and could not even recall us talking in October and November. What in the holy hell?! Im

M. J. White & Son did a basement restoration for me after my water heater exploded and flooded it with a few inches of water. They were professional and always demonstrated a "Can Do" attitude. They kept me informed every step of the way. Roger, Steve and Angie were outstanding. They did absolutely excellent work. I would definitely recommend them and would certainly use them again.

I cannot give enough praise to the owner Joel and his amazing team. My insurance company contacted them after another remediation company did a horrible job. A separate contractor found mold after they said it was fully remediated. Jim on Joel's team stripped all of the flooring, down to the sub floor - cleaned and sanitized and got rid of every speck of mold from my water leak. I was explained the entire process by Joel, Isaiah, and Jim. I complimented Joel on his great team members, and his team members beamed when talking about their boss, Joel. Contacted M. J. White & Son for repairs after roof leaked, causing interior damage. Beginning with the first contact to assess damages, followed by project manager, repairs went smoothly. Crews doing content removal/return, dry wall repairs and painting and more, were all handled professionally. The crews in these departments were pleasant, helpful and well skilled. Did quality work.. I would highly recommend them again.

I had a roof leak in September 2019. It was the first time I have even filed an insurance claim on my home. MJ White & Son made the process very easy by talking with my insurance adjusters and being present for the insurance inspection. They prepared the estimate very quickly so that my claim could be paid out in a short amount of time. They also did a very thorough job and were very professional.

We are so happy that we chose to work with MJ White and Son. Our bathroom pipes burst causing major damage to our bathroom. Everything needed replaced except for the ceiling. Avoid this contractor. You'll probably be sorry if you choose to use them. Extremely slow. Didn't cover carpets. Replaced 24 inch shower door with one that had 16 inch opening, then took over a month to switch it out for an appropriate sized one. Didn't put in shower shelf. Didn't take down drapes or chandelier when tearing out ceiling. There's more, but you get the ideal.

We had a sump pump failure and water overflow in our basement. MJ White estimated cost would be $600. They spend approximately 2 hours pulling up some snap tiles in the basement and left some fans to dry out the basement. Came back and told us the price would be $3,300 (more than 5 times higher than original quote) based on $1,600 for first two hours of work and another $1,700 to put the tiles back down (click them together). Their invoicing shows multiple layers of charges on top of charges. We could have replaced the entire floor with new product for less than they are charging for simple
