GD Tile & Stone

Pros:
- John's receptionist (I believe his son) was very good customer service and kind
- relatively competitive pricing

Cons:
- Tile work was subpar. I had an old house so to their benefit, it was not an easy job. However, the tile was not brought flush with the wall and the dam built on the shower is crooked. My contractors said, "it's not bad work but he doesn't make it easy for the next guy."
- Many items went missing while they were working on the property. When I brought it up to John, he immediately deflected and blamed someone else.
- I found MANY empty beer cans

Very pleased with Arturo's tile work. He was fastidious in every aspect of the job he did to create a new backsplash in my kitchen. The company was very responsive and informed me of any necessary delays.

It's with pleasure that I write this review of GD Tile. We are in the process of upgrading our kitchen in our San Diego condominium, a process that could have been stressful, the contractor, recommended by our designer (Josh Yeagly) was outstanding. The 10 foot counter originally in the condo was a very dated sparkly black quartz. We selected a lighter quartz and met with John to review what we wanted which was a seamless 10 ft slab. His task was to create the piece and to bring it up the stairwell with an 8 inch clearance! Not only did they complete that, but the stone and the cutting

GD Tile and Stone in El Cajon did an excellent glass tile job for us. Glass tile takes some expertise and special cutting blade. Could not have been better. Everyone from the owner to the installers, treated us with respect. Guy, the "organizer", worked to get us a discounted tile price. Fermin and Alex did the work and are very detailed oriented and patient as we decided where to end the kitchen tile. We are meticulous and so were they on the clean up. They protected our new counter and floor as should be done. Price was very good. We will continue to recommend them to others

Guy has been an incredible help with last minuet needs for projects and delivered in a timely and helpful manner. His attitude towards wanting to help people with their projects definitely stands out more than other places I've been. I have been looking for a tile Installer and counter top constructor for a couple of months, but never found any reliable, and knowledge company for my project (see picture).
1)the floor installation is made with ceramics from Italy, very hard to set in pattern. GD tile were perfect installator, clean and in perfect time (no late as usually construction can be)
2) counter tops, I had them fabricate my Carrara marble countertops, about 25ft of total Leigh's (see picture).
It literally took them 4 days between my choice of material

Finally I found professional

We hired GD Tile and Stone to redo a bathroom floor. They had done some work previously under a general contractor that was good, but we had not dealt with the company directly. This contract was directly with them and while considerably more expensive than others, we agreed.

GD Tile insisted on taking out our high end toilet and sat it out in our hallway. The actual tiler did a good job. However, the GD Tile owner then said we would have to hire a plumber to put the toilet back in because putting down the tile raised the floor and the toilet wouldn't go back! Of course he wanted full

GD Tile is amazing to work with. Very prompt and professional. His work is very clean, his prices are a little on the higher side but still very competitive- especially when you factor in the quality you get! I would highly recommend him!

All I can say these guys are the best. Great family business & kept me in the loop from start to finish & on every detail during process of my huge job. They were so accomadating in helping move things (furniture etc) while working & making my home livable while doing the job.

My biggest concern was deadline & time on the job , but John reassured me it would be done in time required & it was with time to spare. They went over & above what was expected , e.g material needed to the exact amount, tile , grout etc everything , they also did the demo then removed baseboard

Wow. These guys are the real deal and take great pride in customer service and impeccable workmanship. The job started promptly and finished ahead of schedule. Everyone on their team was professional and pleasure to do business with.
