Priddy Chimney was founded in 1982 in Bethesda, Maryland as a one-man sweep operation. It has since grown to a full-service chimney company that offers sweep, repair, and artisanal masonry expertise. They answered their phones (unfortunately, Maryland has too many business that won't answer or call back), respond quickly, fair and detailed estimates and options of fixing the issues at hand. Used another company to extend had it "brought up to code" or so we thought. Called Priddy Chimney to clean and inspect it and they found multiple things the other company missed including one that was a major safety issue (every fire would smoke our entire basement). Spoke to Christina and made a plan to address everything, they came in and didn't leave the job until it was 100% perfect. Now we can enjoy our fireplace again without worries thanks to Priddy Chimney Sweeps, I will use this company for every fireplace going forward! I can't recommend them enough; the work was done in a timely manner

There was some misunderstanding about how the two technicians might proceed. I refused to have any demolition on the chimney in the living-room fireplace. Finally the new damper could be installed without touching the flew.

I had to get my vent flut connector up to code prior to getting our water heater installed. I called on Friday evening and spoke with Christine and the next day we had the work completed. Christine was professional, honest and down to earth. She answered questions from me and my husband and was patient. She kept me assured and confident. She had a master Mason on deck. Due to covid the two gentlemen wore their mask and were very professional and pleasant. They also cleaned their work up if it was messy. I would recommend them. Priddy is a great company to do business with as they are fair, considerate, and their workers are skilled craftspeople in their field. Christina handled a multitude of issues related to our work involving permits and working with us on materials to our Homeowner's Association. Prompt, efficient and reliable service by Priddy Chimney. They cleaned our my dryer vent and fireplace flue and advised me about a potential hazard within the ceramic walls of the fireplace. Upon replacement of the fireplace walls they were right. Lots of soot was between the floor piece and the tile which could have caused combustion with continued use. Replacement tiles look fantastic. Overall Priddy is an excellent company to work with!

Donald from Priddy Clean was great to work with when his team came to clean my chimney. He called 10 minutes out to let me know he was on his way and arrived within the window we had set up. They observed COVID protocols wearing masks and gloves. They worked efficiently and were neat. He was honest and didn't push a service I didn't need even though I asked about it. This company saved my life! I'm really grateful for the help they did in rebuilding my chimney. Thomas was the master mason who worked on my order and he was so polite and informative on the process and what needed to be done. The company stuck to their quote and their policies of making sure that the work was going to be amazing and done timely. They had to tear down my old chimney completely and restart from new. In doing that new problems and issues came to light and they fixed what was needed to make sure the rebuilt chimney would be done properly and magnificently all without skipping

We contacted Priddy at the recommendation of several professionals in the fireplace/heating industry. We rarely used our fireplace because of a persistent backdraft and were interested in installing a gas fireplace. Christina and other members of the management team provided us with several options. I would give a zero if I could. I can't tell you how stupid these people are. Forget about the customer service nightmare. I will just say they cleaned the chimney of a gas fireplace (weren't even smart enough to find the wood burning one). Sent me an estimate for 2500 to rebuild the chimney and cracks and animal screens and a bunch of other nonsense on a gas burning fireplace. They inspected the WRONG FIREPLACE! IDIOTS. 2500 of repairs on a gas fireplace that I don't even need a flue for! Anyway---I would not ever use these people. Nightmare. So $250 to clean the wrong fireplace

Avoid these guys like the plague. They came to my house to provide an estimate for installing exhaust pipes for my water heaters that met code. The two fellows that visited were a bit rude and I felt disrespectful. They didn't seem to know what the code was. They performed a cursory inspection inside and took some photos. They then said they needed to go outside to look at the chimney to finish the assessment for the estimate. They sat in their truck for 15 minutes and did nothing and then came in to give me a verbal estimate. Now the company wants $109 for a Level 2 Safety Inspection (??

5 stars for excellent customer service. Leigh in the office was great and had their crew to us first thing to remedy an issue with our dryer vent hook up since they had a crew clean our vent earlier in the year. They called that they were on the way and made the quick repair and assured me it was remedied and were on their way. Again, Leigh couldn't have been nicer and more customer focused. Other service businesses need more people like her scheduling and handling customer service requests.

The technicians were pleasant and arrived on time. Two stars because when I made the appointment I asked twice if they could remove the ceramic baffle on my woods burning fireplace insert in order to clean it. I was really specific and confirmed the day before. Each time the dispatcher said yes, and the manufacturer says its easy. But when they came, the technicians said no, they couldn't do this. So I wasted a day off work, spent time clearing everything away so they could work, and now I have to find another sweep.

I had to have some work done to the chimney in order to get a new water heater in my home. Priddy quoted me for a reasonable price and was out the same week to do the work. The work was done in 2-3 hours and examining the handiwork afterwards, they did a great job.

During maintenance on a fireplace in my apartment, it was discovered that the old prefab fireplace insert was rusted on the interior walls and the entire fireplace and stovepipes going up had to be replaced. My landlord, who lives upstairs hired Priddy to do the job. Keep in mind that this was a pretty expensive job which required cutting out drywall, removing and installing the new insert and all the fittings to the 3rd floor roof.
Priddy said this would take 2 days. They started on January 3rd. They didn't order enough of the chimney pipe, first sign of their stupidity. They returned

I had Priddy Clean out to clean the chimney since we had just moved into a house and we didn't know the status of the chimney. The techs were quick and efficient, no complaints there. After the cleaning they tried to tell me that the chimney needed to be relined for $2500 due to safety reasons. I even received a 2.5 page letter after the visit reiterating why I needed the liner. I called another company to double check and Priddy Clean turned out to be wrong. There was one small area that needed attention and not the whole liner replaced. We been very pleased with our past two jobs done by Priddy Clean: 1) brick front walkway, LED lights, driveway drains and 2) rebuilding top of two chimneys, dryer vent cleaning, & replacing/ converting gas fireplace logs to electric starter.
The various crews were very professional, considerate, honest and did phenomenal work! We got the feeling that they treated our home as if it was their own and they wanted the job done right. We also found their price to be reasonable.
So pleased to be enjoying our walkway which looks like a masterpiece! A great way to welcome people to our home.

I had an excellent experience with Priddy Clean this past weekend, who painted my chimney. The guys were very professional and did a wonderful job, making the chimney look like new and at a very reasonable price.
I'd used Priddy Clean once before, and they did a very nice job with my chimney cleaning. A good number of people in my community have used them for their chimney maintenance needs as well, and I've heard nothing but good things from my neighbors about the service they provide.
