I called during a recent power outage on a Sunday and called the emergency numbers provided. I was able to get the battery pack connected and the fireplace running. Thank you, Bob, for following up so quickly to make sure my problem had been resolved. Great company, great products, and superior customer service.

I went there to buy a high end soapstone stove. No one seemed to be interested in talking to me. I got handed a pamphlet and was left to my own devices. I spent my money elsewhere.

Our 3 year old Vermont casting pilot light went out, so we gave them a call. The repair technician came out and was able to fix it. The next day, the pilot light was off again and wouldn't turn on. They came out again and said they needed a new part. Fast forward a month (as certain parts are not stocked) they came out to install it and said the part was bad. New part ordered, another month wait. The technician came out again and installed it. It worked for two weeks and is now broken once again.

I used them for gas and wood flue systems, masonry and metal. A really great company. Multiple houses, multiple projects. A good contractor that delivers as promised.

I can't say enough good things about this company. They are extremely fair priced and have quality products and great service. We converted a wood burning fireplace with a gas start, to a full gas fireplace. Our first appointment was extremely informative. They let us know our flashing needed to be replaced and that we should go with a full tear out, not an insert. The honesty was refreshing and it was for a very reasonable price. Cheryl the office manager was great to work with. The team who did all of our work was fantastic. They were in an out in a day and the fireplace is absolutely perfect

Received one of the most outrageous quotes I ever received after waiting over 2 weeks to hear back. The quote involved removing my existing hearth/tile and replacing with stacked stone I previously purchased and installing a new mantle, also previously purchased. Black Hat’s almost 15K quote was even more than the quotes I recently received from several contractors to remodel my fairly large kitchen. Don’t waste your time or money, plenty of skilled masons out there to choose from that are more in-line with expectations. I received 5 other quotes for the stonework and not one of them exceeded

I couldn't be happier with Black Hat. Bob, the owner, came to my home on fairly short notice, spent time assessing my problem, and sent an awesome crew to take care of everything. The crew was fantastic. Knowledgeable, clean, kind and efficient. My only regret is not hiring them earlier.
2019
I had them come back and clean my chimney. Again, they out performed my expectations. I feel like I got a whole new system.

Had this company install a gas fire place for us several years ago and we still love it! It has changed the whole dynamic of our house by being both a beautiful addition to our living room and an energy efficient source of heat for our whole downstairs. Their employees were in an out in one morning and everyone we've ever spoken to there was kind, well informed, and easy to talk to. We recommend them to everyone!
