John Kothrade is founder and owner of JPC Custom Homes, Twin Cities-based custom homebuilder and remodeling company. John established what would become JPC Custom Homes back in 1984, with the goal of being not just another construction company, but one that builds for life. Working in the industry since 1979, John grew tired of the shortcuts many builders use to lower costs and fast track construction.

We started our journey with JPC Custom Homes in 2018, and moved into our custom built home in Carver, MN in August 2019. From the initial design consultation to helping us find lots with open builder allowances, through construction, completion and warranty repair work, JPC Custom Homes (the Kothrade family and all their employees) have been a dream to work with. We had exceptional craftsmanship, great communications and wonderful attention to detail from JPC Custom Homes as they transformed our unfinished basement. The addition of our family room, kitchen, bathroom and exercise room complete finished our home.
