The Mad Hatter proudly carries and installs custom made chimney caps. Our master metal fabricators have over 30 years of experience fabricating custom heavy-gauge galvanized steel or pure copper chimney caps. Over the years, we have accumulated valuable feedback from masons, builders, chimney sweeps, and homeowners, which has resulted in a product that satisfies virtually any need.
The Mad Hatter has specialized in chimney sweeping and cleaning since 1978. It is the first service that we offered in 1978 and we still continue to hone and improve our service for you. All chimneys should be inspected annually and swept when needed to remove byproducts such as soot and creosote. This will help to prevent flue fires and ensure that dangerous fumes can exit your home.
We offer the full range of repairs to chimney systems, big and small-from repairing leaky flashing to tuckpointing and masonryrepair to relining the flue and chimney rebuilding. No job is too big or too small! Water damage resulting from a missing chimney cap is all too common. We remedy this situation by reconstructing the back walls of fireplaces, returning them to their original pristine condition.

Craig and Derek from the showroom were great to work with through the sales process. I thought I knew what I wanted but it turned out it was too big for my firebox. They helped me find the perfect vented gas log set, burner, and glass doors for my fireplace. Installers arrived 30 minutes early and were very organized. They were clearly very familiar with my specific firebox and all the stuff I ordered. They paid attention to detail and the fireplace looks beautiful as a result. Had the team of Sean and Ignacio clean, inspect all our fireplaces today, and our dryer vent. Fantastic service and care of our home! I picked Mad Hatter over other companies due to their strong reviews both online and in a local best pics magazine. I have used them on two separate occasions with significant work to two fireplaces and replacement of my chimney hood that was badly rusted and leaking water. Mad Hatter was able to schedule us for a Sunday install this past weekend, the day after we purchased them, so we would have our logs installed by Christmas. Chris was great at helping us select a set (Charred American Oak) and Sean was on time (early!) very professional, SO NEAT! never even could tell he was here. So happy with our gas logs, very realistic looking and warm, seamless experience. Our only regret is that we didn't get them years ago?

Have used the Mad Hatter in the past for fireplace and grill projects. We had them out to clean the dryer vent today and like the past services they've provided, this one was exceptional. The techs were thorough and knowledgeable and the work made a big difference. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any services that they offer. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!

I’m not one to typically write a review. In fact, I think it’s been years, but I think today I need to. Brand new logs were purchased for my home in 2016. We had issues almost immediately when everything was still under warranty. We have paid technician visit rate of over $300 plus cost of repair. The technicians that come out are kind, respectful, and knowledgeable, but after 5 years….the problem still exists. We’ve been able to enjoy our logs sporadically over the last 5 years, because who can afford those rates for a temporary patch? Now the rate is over $420 for the service call alone

Firstly, the technicians that came and did the cleaning and inspection were top notch. They did their work, they were professional and friendly. The 2 Stars come from how the business conducted its self. There was an issue during the inspection that required one of two solutions. One was to "attempt" a repair and the other was an outright fireplace replacement. Understanding that businesses have different distributors and alignments, I felt it was dishonest to omit that the vendor of my fireplace has common place parts to repair the issue; it did NOT require a COMPLETE replacement with

Communication is nil with these people. Wanted to get an updated quote, charge is $380 to do that bc they have to do a full clean and inspect. Ok, paid for that. They couldn't do a roof inspection due to rain, someone would call to set up a new time. Two weeks later nothing, so I call them. They were going to send someone out with no consult as to day, they give me a day once, that gets changed due to weather again (not before sending someone else's inspection results), they give me another date then show on a different day. They finally sent pics that I *think* are mine, but no one discusses

I recently visited the Mad Hatter in my search for gas logs. As I stepped into the storeroom, there was more than one salesperson standing together, chatting with each other, and even after me perusing the entire showroom, no one approached me. It was as I was leaving the store that one of the sales people finally asked if I needed help. Honestly, I was ready to just walk out having been completely ignored.
Ultimately, I got the information I needed from Chris and he offered a Sunday appointment, which got me in almost a month earlier than what the schedule would allow. Pepe was my installer

Professional, knowledgeable tune-up for my gas log fireplace from experienced personnel. Jack and Alejandro were on time, efficient, answered all my questions and did an excellent job. The Mad Hatter installed my gas logs four years ago and are the only company I would trust to do the follow-up chimney sweep and cleaning. Customer service personnel who schedule appointments are personable and always make me feel like a valued customer.

Mad Hatter rebuilt our fireplace 5 yrs. ago and put in a wood burning stove. We have only had the fireplace cleaned one other time. We have burned some pine, so I was concerned about the fireplace before we start using it this winter.
The two guys were prompt, wore booties over their on shoes, cleaned up behind themselves and wore masks the whole time they were working in the house. They also went up on the roof to check out the cover and clean it out in the chimney.
The guys answered any questions that we had, and they seemed to do a thorough job.
I look forward to lighting up our fireplace this

These guys are the worst! they charged us a whopping $550 for callout and inspection. Then told us we would need $25,000 worth of repairs. They said we must NOT light the fires. It was nonsense. Worked with these guys

We have used Mad Hatter to clean our three chimneys and dyer duct. They have also replaced dryer duct for us when they previous owner had flexible dryer duct installed.
I would highly recommend their services. Throughout the job, they take pictures to show you before and after. They clean up after the job is complete. They are on time to the appointment.
They don't hire contractors to do the job. That was biggest problem with some of the other service providers where you enter your enter the type of job and your zip code, then you are matched someone. Be aware you might be getting
