Saphire + Albarran is a multi-disciplined design practice located in Pennington, New Jersey. Founded in 1986 as Saphire Associates by Joseph E. Saphire, the practice was reformed in 2007 as Saphire + Albarran, to acknowledge the addition of a new Partner, Edwin Albarran. Our practice is dedicated to providing creative and timely solutions that achieve our client's vision and enhance daily life.

Regardless of the setting we are designing for, be it a hospital, a new campus building, or a corporate boardroom, we endeavor to design spaces that inspire, that are good for the environment and that work for the people that use them. We assist our clients in every aspect of their project, from initial feasibility studies to building occupancy, to ensure their vision and the project goals are realized.
Services
The challenge of this project was how to accommodate a large addition in a historic district. Growth and demand necessitated an expansion of the client's program. The new addition houses administrative offices for the church and school, classrooms for religious education and a day school.
This project was completed for a joint venture between AtlantiCare Health Systems and Atlantic Medical Imaging in Hammonton New Jersey. The project was a portion of a larger Urgent Care Center designed to provide medical care to an underserved community in Southern New Jersey after the closure of Kessler Hospital in Hammonton.
On the medical campus of Bayshore Community Hospital, Hackensack Meridian Health wished to create an environment, outside of the Hospital in which doctors and patients could interact in a more traditional and inviting atmosphere. S+A architecture were charged with creating a modern and tasteful medical office within the ground level floor of an antiquated 1960's medical office building.
Bayshore Community Hospital, a part of the Hackensack Meridian Healthcare Family made a decision to invest and improve the level of Healthcare treatment within their Community Hospital. One of the first steps was to create a state of the art Endovascular and Cath Lab Suite that rivals those found in the larger medical institutions further away from their serving community.
This project involved a multiphase expansion of an existing radiology, surgical and diagnostic treatment center. The client tasked us with master planning a 14,000 square foot addition to its imaging center. We created shell spaces that are flexible enough to house future technologies and increased efficiencies through technologies (IT supported neighborhoods) and adjacencies to reduce circulation and steps.
