Phifer's broad line of insect screening is available in a variety of widths, lengths, and materials and used in window, door and porch applications as well as larger openings, such as pool and patio enclosures. Screening is woven from metal wire (aluminum or bronze), and fiberglass or polyester yarns.
A large part of a historic home's character is held in its windows. Capitol Screen Company can fabricate your custom wood frames to reflect period or regional styles of that era. We ordered 8 custom screens for our existing double hung windows. We met with Rick Sims (Owner) several times to discuss the screen system we needed, and to troubleshoot several issues. The installation was challenging and took much longer than expected, but we are extremely pleased with the work and customer service from Capitol Screen Company.

I'm very impressed with Rick and his service. I had some bad luck with a dog running through my screen door. I called Capitol Screen and Rick told me to bring it in. He did an excellent job fixing it. It only took one day and at a very fair price too. Rick is a super nice man and was a pleasure to do business with. I will definitely use him in the future and recommend him to everyone.

Thank you to YELP and your subscribers for pointing us in the direction of Capitol Screen Company. Take a look at our wood patio screen door with pet screening (note the patio glass door is also closed so that's why you see white in the picture).
Rick Sims, the owner, was quick to provide us a quote that we felt was quite reasonable and door construction was soon underway. Rick had Jeremy come out and do the install and we couldn't be happier. The hardware looks great and the door certainly improved both the patio look and it's usefulness. Our dog likes it too!

Our two doors on our screened-in patio were having a hard time closing due to gaps developed because of the wood warping over time. Rick had created the screen doors for us over 2 years ago and he came back and fixed the issue. He actually brought in new parts to fix the issue and did this at no charge to us. That is going way over and above what was expected. We highly recommend him as he stands behind his work. Very appreciated.

I purchased their screening in 1996 when building an enclosed porch to our home. The material was about 4 feet wide and 25' long. The material was plastic coated, and I assume the mesh was nylon. After 21 years, there are no tears from hail. Our cat climbed the screen twice and no damage was done. Even UV rays didn't alter the product. I am now planning to order more screen to replace the existing ones on an older Texas home. You won't find a better product or more qualified staff than Capitol Screen. Thank you for an excellent product with great durability.

Rick Sims and Jeremy were great in getting our windows measured and screens made exactly to-fit. The new solar screens makes a tremendous difference in the look of our home. The old screens had started fading and were bent so we were unable to open our windows for fear of bugs and lizards getting into the house. PROBLEM SOLVED! Our solar window screens were old and tired so it was time to replace them. I didn't realize how much there was to know about screens until I started looking into replacing ours. It boils down to this: Functionally, there are 2 types of window screens; solar or insect screens. Solar, as the name suggests, provides protection from the sun's light/heat which reduces cooling costs, and fading to carpets, furniture, etc... they also provide a degree of daytime privacy. This recommendation is a long time coming. In the past and for many years we used Capitol Screen to replace a screen or two at our house in Anderson Mill. Never had a problem. Last year we moved to Round Rock to a house that faced west and really heated up in the afternoon sun. All of the rooms in the front, upstairs and downstairs, were hot in the summertime. We spoke with several contractors about this issue but were really impressed by Rick with Capitol Screens. GREAT job! We had Capitol Screen Co. replace all of our window screens and make us a screen door for the sliding patio door. They did an excellent job - the screens look/work great. They did the work with a quick turnover time and speedy installation. And the prices were extremely reasonable. I've made my own screens before, so I know how much it costs.
