Craig Belfor started moving pianos for Sherman Clay, a local piano dealer, in 1967, while still in high school. In 1968, he started working for the local National Van lines agent in San Rafael. In 1981, when that agent closed the business, he started Belfor Moving, and got a National Van Lines agency contract.
