Services
Jonathan and Melanie Broga founded Potomac Pool Service, Inc., in 2003 to provide a higher class of residential swimming pool service to the Northern Virginia, Montgomery County and Washington, DC area. While working in the local commercial pool industry in the 1990's it became increasingly clear that the local residential market was lacking the professionalism that homeowners were expecting and deserving.

Given the broad array of individual services available, combined with the unique design and demands of each individual pool, we have outlined on the basic products and services that will cover the majority of residential swimming pool needs.

I've been very disappointed with the Potomac Pool Service's responsiveness. We opened our pool in late March and haven't been able to enjoy a single day of swimming.
After various failed attempts to repair the heater, we decided to replace it and were told that it would be installed Friday (6/25) or Monday (6/28). It is now approaching the 4th of July weekend and we are still waiting for someone to show up.
They don't answer the phone. They don't call back when you leave a message. They don't answer emails promptly or call/text/email to explain the delay.

This is my second year using Potomac. Their prices are reasonable, and they're always on time. We had a slight hiccup in the beginning, but they were super responsive and we got right on track. The tech texts me every week to make sure my dogs aren't in the backyard, and they let themselves in without a hitch. I've needed some other services that they don't do, but they've been quick to send great referrals. I've used 3-4 different services since buying my house 20yrs ago, and they are by far the best.

We initially used this pool service, under prior ownership, and received excellent service. However, they had to replace equipment due to their own errors on more than one occasion and then, as another reviewer said, began nickel and diming everything. We are now using another service with knowledgeable technicians that we can trust to do the work right the first time.

Professional, Timely, Responsive! Excellent all the way around! We have worked with other local firms in the past but these guys actually train their technicians. They know how to anticipate issues and took the time to explain how we could prevent future problems....something the other guys never did, it saved us a ton of money. These guys are reasonably priced and the best overall company around.

Love these guys! Their technician showed up on time, was friendly and responsive. Made quick work of closing my pool for the season. And after the work was complete, the technician spent several minutes chatting with me and educating me on what to and not to do to keep the pool healthy over the winter time (I am a new pool owner). Highly recommended, good price, nice people, responsive staff.

This company has lost its touch. Instead of coming home after a long week to enjoy the pool with my family, I get to clean it on my Friday night.
It took 3 weeks to get my pool ready for summer. The pool should have opened the last week of May, but didn't get clear and clean until around 20 June. I have had 2 weeks of a semi-clean pool.
Now I have an algae bloom occurring and the pool guy came just 5 days ago. My wife has had to call the team constantly. Of course they are closed on weekends so I will not hear from them until Monday after my weekend algae pool party.

We signed up for open/close and weekly service of our home pool. We thought they would be an improvement over our prior service and were willing to pay the much higher price. Potomac then began nickel and dime us on everything in addition to our weekly fee. One of their service employees explained to us how employees are measured on pools serviced. This was why they sped through their cleaning. I had to vacuum after they would leave because they would kick debris off the bottom rather than vacuum properly. I spoke with the Company president multiple times. Rather then fix the vacuuming issue

I'm a new pool owner and used these guys to open my pool this Spring. I got the Spring Opening Service #3 which includes an opening, all the chemicals and a return visit for more cleaning. I'm glad I did - the pool was so gross after they did their initial cleaning on day #1. After they opened the pool, I got an email with a decent amount of detail about what was done, and the condition they found the pool in once they removed the cover. I was home when they came back two days later for additional cleaning and the tech shared a few helpful tips about my pool and keeping it clean. I asked

Potomac Pools is a great pool service company. After many years of searching for a reliable company that is competent I stumbled on their website 3 years ago. I gave them a try opening and closing the pool then and have stuck with them since. The last 2 years I have used their cleaning services as well. What really makes them stand out is their customer service. They work really hard to make sure your pool is clean and running well and that you are happy. Brett our technician this year went out of his way to open our pool the best way possible this year and we are really grateful!

Excellent company! The entire staff is friendly and very professional. From the receptionist that answered the phone, the service manager that worked up all of the estimates, to the technicians that did the work - everyone was very nice to deal with. I needed a lot of work done on my pool - basically had to replace everything that was in the pump house. This is my first time owning a pool (came with the house I just purchased) and the technicians let me watch the work they were doing and explained the ins and outs of all the equipment while they worked - I feel like an expert now and I am no longer
