Very professional and knowledgeable. Marty was happy to answer every question we had, even the dumb ones. They had us on the schedule in less than a week, and the installation took less than a day to swap out our old system with a new unit. They even took care of our HVAC rebate for us. Great customer service, quick to respond and did a great job on getting us up and running in this heat. The service guys made sure to cover our carpet to make sure nothing happened when they were coming in and out. We have had a service contract with one of the big name A/C and plumbing companies for well over 15 years. When they came to check our A/C this Spring they told us the coils on our upstairs unit needed to be replaced since they were leaking coolant. Their salesman came out and gave us a quote. Because we were long-time customers we qualified for a 10% discount, and then our salesman called the Vice President of the company who he put on speaker phone and asked if they could do anything better for us. The VP "generously" offered an additional 5% discount. Honestly I felt like I was

During a recent ice storm our HVAC system stopped working properly - we had heat in the house, but the outside compressor would not turn on. I called Shumate at 9:30 in the morning and they had a service technician at the house a little after noon. The tech was very knowledgeable and checked the entire system quickly, explaining everything as he went; he didn't try to sell me any services or parts that I didn't need.
The repair required a part which had to be ordered, and the same tech returned at my convenience to install the part. The work was done quickly, and the quality was outstanding.

I would have given 4 stars, except that the service was scheduled for 10 am, and no one called, until after I called the office @ 10:45, to tell me that the tech had been delayed. The service tech arrived 4 hours later. He was competent and fixed my problem. The price for service would have been a bit above average without the $25.00 first time discount, but all in all worth it as long as they back up their work. If so, I'd be inclined to use Shumate again.

I did an online information form on their website to explain my A/C problems on a Friday afternoon. I did not expect anyone to contact me on a Friday afternoon, however, Mike wrote me back with a very detailed explanation of my problems. I thought “Cool, maybe I found a decent company to work on my A/C”. He said the scheduler would be calling me on Monday. Monday came and went – no call.
