In 1958, Kaskas Oriental Rug Gallery was established by Abdul Hafez Kaskas in Beirut, Lebanon. His son, Zahi Kaskas decided to bring the business to the United States after the start of the Lebanese civil war in 1975. He opened the first store in Austin Texas in 1976. In 2000, Zahi welcomed his two sons, Safi(right side) and Samer(left side) into the family business.
Samer (Vice President) is a graduate of Saba University, while Safi (President) is a graduate of Texas State University with a degree in computer science. Both sons now bring the same friendliness and service as their father and grandfather have for over half a century. Today, Kaskas Oriental Rugs is still family owned and operated with two galleries Austin, Texas.
Our main goal is to build trust, and to educate the customer. All of our rugs are directly imported by us, with no middle men involved. Because of this, we can pass the savings onto the customer.

Walking into the store I did not know what to expect, but was blown away by the knowledge they had about the rugs and their commitment towards customer service. They told me everything about each rug I liked from how many knots it had, what area it was made, and what the designs were and what they represented! Their prices were also very nice, they can accommodate any budget.

Recently bought an authentic Persian rug from Kaskas. I was impressed by the authenticity of not just the product, but also the business itself. It's refreshing to deal with honest, professional small business owners who truly know what they're selling and are passionate about it.
Samer helped walk us through the variety of rug designs, ages, and materials. He elaborated in detail how different constructions would hold up over time, and which types of rugs were ideal for what areas of the house. He invites you to look at the differences yourself and decide whether you're just after a look or after
