We educate our technicians by sending them to the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), where they update their knowledge on new codes, product and technology.
We just moved into our 20 year old house in Spring so wanted a full chimney sweep to start the season. These guys weren't only professional but also super friendly and informative. I've heard so many horror stories about chimney companies being one of those groups that always try to rip you off, sell you something you don't need.

Needed a custom multi-flue cap installed + waterproofing of the chimney brickwork. I got quotes from 15+ different companies before finally (and fortunately) landing on Rich.
I ask a lot of questions and like to know all the options available. Rich was very patient, quick to respond, able to explain (and demonstrate) why I didnt need the type of waterproofer I thought I did, and was the only person to suggest the idea of a custom chase cover (because I wanted to protect the crown as much as possible). He cared about the job and, although it was very late, took the time to repair the flashing while

We purchased 3 inserts and a wood stove from R&J and, from visiting the store to browse inserts/stove to delivery and installation, we were very pleased. A lot of work went into all of this, complicated by the difficulties one always finds when working on a 225-year-old house; the entire crew was professional, polite, hard-working and we are happy to recommend R&J to our friends for anything to do with their chimneys.

They went above and beyond for us. Their level of customer service is unbelievable. We had an emergency situation at the house and they sent someone out the same day! They addressed the problem (which was NOT their fault) and fixed the problem immediately. They are Professional and Very reasonably priced. I would HIGHLY recommend, and will be doing business with them again in the Spring.

Rich and John’s came out to inspect/clean our fireplace chimney this morning which hasn’t been used in a few years. Tony and Tayron, the technicians who came out, were on time, friendly, and very professional. After a quick inspection of the flue, we were told the chimney actually didn’t need to be cleaned and that we could reschedule when the season was over. Wow, talk about honesty!!! We are first time customers and will now be using Rich and John’s for all our fireplace/chimney needs going forward. Thank you! You guys are awesome!!

Tony and Marcus were great. They had called to let me know they were running a little bit late. They cleaned my prefab chimney in about 25 minutes and got me out of my house in time. They informed me of an issue I had with my chimney cap and I plan on having it and installed by them in the next week or two. These guys are the best

We had Tony from Rich and John’s install a wood burning insert for us that we had purchased from a different company. There were some issues with the unit we purchased online, Tony was able to repair everything and explain what we need to order from the online company to have our insert work properly. They had us pull a permit for the installation. No one else told us that we had to do that we had three other estimates from local Chimney companies and no one informed us that we need to pull a permit. Come to find out, if you install a wood fireplace in your house and you don’t pull a permit

After multiple visits to fix the gas fireplace insert that had been installed in our new home (it would work briefly again after being repaired and then stop), Rich & John's went ahead and replaced the entire system at no cost to us. They'd discovered that there was a defect in the model we had, which is why it would eventually stop working after each repair call. The new system works beautifully and we're grateful that they took the time to figure out the issue and get us a new system from the manufacturer, even though they lost money on the replacement themselves. Rich performed an inspection on our chimney and discovered a fracture from top to bottom. He was instrumental when providing details to my home insurance provider. His technician Remzi did a superb job in taking down the old chimney and rebuilding the new one. He took care of my property as if it were his own. I would highly recommend this company given my experience.
