I highly recommend Dfence builders. They installed 180 ft of horizontal wood fencing around our house and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. It started with Darren coming out to our house and explaining to us the possibilities for wood fencing for our property. The conversation wasn't simply about adding a wood fence but about transforming our yard and creating a 'look'. We wanted more than just a barrier but something visually exciting. D-Fence Builders did a fantastic job constructing our new redwood fence in Woodland Hills. Cody came out and met with my wife and I for a consultation during which he spent an hour answering all our questions, taking the relevant measurements, showing us different pictures of fences they could build -- and was very, very patient and professional throughout. We had consultations and got quotes from two other fence/gate contractors, but D-Fence -- in particular Darren and Cody -- worked with us and outbid the other contractors by a lot; their quote was very reasonable and they stayed within budget

I do not recommend D-Fence Builders or their affiliated company, Brown & Brown Fence Company.
On a positive note, we had a good experience working with Darren, Lee, and team, and the new fence, gates, and enclosures that they installed look great.
Unfortunately, we have had chronic issues opening and closing the 3 pedestrian gates that they installed. The first one became inoperable only a month after installation.
I reached out to them at that time and they promptly came out to readjust it. Despite the quick fix, it would not open/close again a week after their visit. I let them know

D Fence is a fantastic company. Darren Hicks is the owner and is hands-on. Darren came to our home to give us an estimate on installing a vinyl lattice fence and gate. He supervised his employees and made sure the work was well done! He provided a written, detailed contract. He recently replaced a post cap which I broke at no charge. He is honest, trustworthy, and responsive. He is exceptional in a world where many contractors don't even return customer telephone calls. I would rate D Fence as excellent!

Reached out to several fence people for estimates and felt the best about working with Darren and his team. While they were not the least expensive, the dialogue, ease of communication and attention to detail were key. He listened to what we wanted, made some recommendations, and then we made a plan after a little research. He communicated quickly and regularly. His crew arrived when expected and completed the project exactly how we had planned. They were courteous and kept a clean workspace. D-Fence Builders installed a beautiful horizontal hardwood fence in our backyard, and we couldn't be more pleased with the result. Lee was incredibly helpful answering our many questions about the details of the job before finalizing our quote, and Darren showed up on the first day of installation to make sure everyone was on the same page. We had D-Fence Builders install our new new gates. My rating of one star is because their customer service is horrible.
Gates were to be installed on September 6th 2018. On 9-04-18 at 11am two days before I called to make sure we were still on schedule no answer knowing the office closed at 3:30 I then sent an email @3pm. It was not till the next afternoon that I receive an email that the frame is still with the iron guy. (Don't you think if frame is still with iron guy They should have CALLED me) But they would call me the next day to reschedule. Did I hear from them NO. I made two more

These guys where great! I purchased the house and wanted my new fence with gates for my boat storage. Everything was perfect and in Thousand Oaks we had a major wind storm and my neighbors tree fell on my new fence. Darren and his guys came to my home right away and fixed everything within 24 hours. The customer service was excellent, I will recommend theses guys all day long.

They were hired by my neighbor (joint property fence), and the cost was split between the neighbor and my landlord. They were only supposed to used the neighbor's electricity, but used mine and subsequently blew half the fuses in my house, and at the very time I was getting ready for work.
At the completion of the two day install, they left trash (food wrappers, soda cans and chunks of concrete from the old fence posts). They over poured the concrete for the new posts, subsequently damaging the area for plant, foliage, grass growth. And they literally just dumped excess dug up dirt in piles

What can I say about these guys! Competitive pricing, knocked the job out in two days, came when they said they would come....all of these you would expect......but no, they actually took great care removing the old fence and installing the new fence and didn't step on any flowers or plants that were located next to the fence line. On top of that they removed and replaced a jasmine vine that was hanging on the old fence. That was not expected but greatly appreciated. Thanks to Darren and his team!

I contacted D-Fence and spoke with Darren and Lee both guys are very nice and professional I'm really glad I did business with them my family is very pleased with our new rear gate, the installers were awesome they did a great job even in the scorching sun that was out that day. The fence looks good and the people were nice, that's why they get the 3 stars.
The others stars are for communication and other housekeeping issues. Darren was really nice and so were his workers but time seemed to be split up between other jobs and half way through the day the fence was not being done. The fence took longer than expected.
As for housekeeping, several sprinklers were broken with no notification to me and a pool pipe was broken with no notification.
Posts were not cut flush to the ground leaving me to cut them to safety.
Trash was left around the yard (though

Since our last experience with D-Fence was so positive we decided to use them to demolish and replace a back garden fence between us and our neighbours. D-Fence worked with both us and our neighbours and received separate checks which made life easier. The crew turned up on time, completed the job in half the time they quoted, left a few fence palings as extras for the future, tidied up after themselves and were very polite.
I would recommend D-Fence if you have fencing requirements.

After contacting 4 other companies to build a gate for my Rv access, I decided to go with Darren. His knowledge and experience stood out from the rest. I had a written quote the next day and they started work right away. Eric was the installer that came out and did a fantastic job. The installation took a day and they paid attention to all the details. They cleaned up and went over all details of the new gate. I am very pleased with the professionalism of dfence builders and would definitely use them again.
