Still on going and continuing problems: Two of the gates don't latch because the hinges were not screwed into anything. Over 4 months they began shifting (due to lack of proper screws/mounting) so the latch doesn't line up with the hook. I'm also still finding bolts and glue in my vegetable garden.

Vance is a man with very little character. He did not finish the job(putting support beams on the patio cover, fixing poor welds, and cleaning up a full truck load of things he was supposed to haul away from the old patio).
As for the fence. We had three men who knew steel fabrication/welding come over to look at the job afterwards and they ALL were appalled. They said the work was not only sub par/horrible quality but would rust at the weld sites within a short amount of time. I called Vance because I needed my fence replaced. He arrived and said the fence was still good and suggested some minor post repair and to repaint the wrought iron fence. As scheduled Danny arrived and painted the fence and it looks good as new. They did a great job and left the area clean. Thank you for a nice job.

Vance and his guys built a boundary fence that was coming down. They did a good job, showed up when they said and finished on time. Why three stars? I was told they would come back to fix a few planks on the fence and we also had another couple things that needed repair, but then Vance disappeared on us and hasn't responded to many emails and calls. I'm very sympathetic to family emergencies and sincerely hope everything is okay with his family, but a quick email reply seems like it should be within the realm of possibility, even if just to say I cant help right now. Would not do business with again. Vance installed an iron gate at my residence and did a very rush job because they arrived late on a weekend (they chose the day) and were in a hurry to leave. They oversprayed all over my stucco wall and concrete, they missed spray a lot of the iron, thus resulting in rust all over the gate. This was despite their claim that they would have all anodized metal to prevent rust and that was supposedly what sets them apart from competition. WARNING! Don't make the same mistake I did. I hired "Vance Alan Hildebrand" aka, "Fences N More" before checking the California contractors license board. The work they did was so bad I had to hire another contractor to rip out and completely redo what they had done. Hildebrand's license was REVOKED years ago by the state due to numerous complaints. Read all this yourself on the government web site and check out "Complaint Disclosure." This man should be in jail! Read "2 other reviews that are not currently recommended" here on Yelp.

I contracted with Vance Hildebrand, Fences&More, in June 2014 for fence work and driveway paver installation. I stopped the job when it was clear that the work was grossly sub-standard. Vance did not pay for the materials out of the deposit and progress payments he received and wrote a bad check to the supplier for $3600 which he refused to make good when his check was dishonored. The owner of the license that Vance used my contract has filed a statement with CSLB that Vance did not have permission to use that license. The fence contractor website that this yelp posting takes you to does not

Vance did a great job replacing the iron fencing on 3/4 acre around my house and installing snake fencing to keep the rattlers out. This was 3.5 years ago. He also built a special ornamental fence for a doggie area. Some of the nylon ties holding the fencing in place had come loose recently and without me telling him it was a small fix, he immediately said he would fix any issue we had. Number here is obsolete.
