This place is absolutely top-notch when it comes to service. About 6 years ago we purchased two gas inserts from them, both of which we use practically every day. The service from Guy and his team has always been fantastic, but just today something happened that was particularly exemplary and was what prompted me to write a review. Recently the remote on one of the units started having trouble, with some of the buttons not working properly. We looked online, hoping we could just buy a replacement. Due to the supply chain issue, no one has this remote anywhere. Finally, I thought to call Thompson

Every time I come to Thompson's Hearth and Home, I am treated with kindness and respect. The owner, Guy and his wife are friendly and knowledgeable. Guy always takes his time to explain about fireplaces and fireplace parts. All their products are of higher quality. I always buy fireplace parts from him and always will. I shopped at three different fireplace stores before visiting Thompson's. I was immediately impressed with their showroom, selection and friendly service by the owners. They had the exact model of wood burning fireplace insert I had been looking for. Great - The owner came in on his one day off to open the store to allow me to buy his only floor model Kamado Joe Classic III.
Good - The store was clean, the owner helped me load it into my truck, and the price was what we’d agreed on in advance.
Suggestion: Every Friday have a BBQ outside for employees and customers.

We bought a free standing gas fireplace last month from Thompson's Home and Hearth and had such a good experience from start to finish. We had some problems with the installation (not done by Thompsons!) and Guy talked us through everything. He was always available to help us and we so appreciated it!

We went to Thompson's Hearth & Home expecting to buy a new gas insert to replace our "broken" one. Though he could have sold us a new insert, Guy instead worked with us to troubleshoot the current problems with our non-Thompson's product. With a simple part and thorough instructions we were able to fix our insert and save thousands of dollars.
How refreshing to work with an honest and ethical company. I highly recommend Thompson's and hope to need them again in the future.

Service before the sale is common. Service after the sale, especially a fair amount of time after the sale, is unheard of now days. Thompsons offerd both exceptionally well! We went to several fireplace stores and not one had the selection, knowledge, or ideas the people at Thompsons did. Their prices were in line with all other's as well. Installation was a breeze with kind and professional young men that clearly knew their stuff. Now jump forward 4 years and we've had two beautiful fireplaces working perfectly. What a great surprise to find a business that is customer centric!! Guy Thompson was not only patient and informative with answering all our questions, but honest with giving us accurate information. He didn't try to sell us product....as did several other business.... but instead saved us hundreds of dollars. That is being honest and putting the customer first!! I can assure you that we will go back to Guy, and no one else, when we need any product or service for our fireplaces. All was delivered as promised, the product is beautiful and we are very happy with the result. Installation was professional and on time. Know Guy recycles the old which is a bonus for all. I walked in and the owner Guy showed me their options for a zero-clearance fireplace insert. He used very low pressure - no pushy sales job at all. He explained options and gave me the model brochures.
I called back later and placed my order. Guy was fine with me sending the deposit by check using bank bill pay. He sent an installer to do the measurements, who was on time and friendly. We got their recommended electrician to install the outlet, which went smoothly. Then the installation team arrived exactly on time and got the job done perfectly.

About 8 years ago, we bought a display model from Thomson's Hearth & Home. They gave a good deal because it was a display model and also because the unit was sized for an older, larger fireplace, which are less common. We love the fireplace and it's saved us a few times when the power went out.
Now, after all this time, I had an issue that cropped up after cleaning it; the pilot light would not stay lit. I followed the instructions left by the installer, but that didn't help. We called Thompson's and Guy answered the phone. I described the issue and Guy walked me through

Excellent service all the way around. Had Thompson's install a gas log fireplace a number of years ago, and we've enjoyed it consistently trouble free until we unwittingly rearranged the logs incorrectly, which created a problem with the gas flow. After calling Thompson's, Guy drove out to our house and diagnosed/ explained the problem as well getting the logs back in order, all free of charge. Caring, personalized customer service such as this is rare these days, we will unhesitatingly recommend Thompson's to family and friends.

It was a pleasure to work with this local business with Guy and his family nearly four years ago. They oversaw ordering and installing beautiful hand crafted doors for our newly constructed home's large double sided fireplace and for an outdoor fireplace. We were always nervous to light a fire in our new home, but finally did use it this Thanksgiving. One of the four doors was tight on its hinge. Once I reached out to Guy, he sent Max, his same installer, over within a day or so and they cleared out the tightness that had developed. I'm so grateful for their commitment to excellence

What a fantastic experience it was working with Thompson's Hearth & Home to find the best option to upgrade our old wood fire place in our new home. My review is not just for shop owners but it takes a full dedicated team including the installers. We ordered a steel mantel shelf. Two other places in the Seattle area carried the same shelf, one was too far from us, the other had a form that appeared to be created by the manufacturer, but had higher prices than Thompson's Hearth & Home for the exact same thing. To top it off, Thompson's shipping costs were a lot better.
The people who helped us at Thompson's were also friendlier and more knowledgable than at the other place.
After placing the order, the shelf arrived even a little bit faster than we expected, and when I picked it up, they loaded it in the car for me.

I had no idea what I was looking for, but was helped right from the start. Nicole came over, answered all our questions, and let us decide what we were looking for, no pressure. To be totally honest, I thought she could have been more pushy.
We ended up choosing different inserts for our up and downstairs fireplaces. From purchase to delivery, installation, everything - it was incredibly smooth. I almost fear the problems I'm going to have when updating our home and this couldn't have been easier. Def. recommend.

We purchased a gas fireplace from Guy about 18 months ago and he made it very easy to decide to buy from him. He did everything I asked to make it easier for me to get the fireplace I wanted after he educated me about which fireplace was best for me.
We had 2 different "minor" issues that were manufacturer issues, nothing terrible and nothing to do with the installation.

We wanted to convert both of our home's unused wood burning fireplaces into more efficient gas inserts. We visited multiple dealer showrooms and quickly became overwhelmed by the choices in options, aesthetics, efficiency, and prices.

We picked up a Big Green Egg, BBQ Guru, an amazing Challenger Cart, and all the extras and goodies to get cooking on the Big Green Egg from Guy. My husband has always been a charcoal nut, and has gone through several different BBQ's. Now it was time to step up and buy the egg. Not only did Thompson's offer delivery and setup of the egg, but they even spent a great deal of time getting us used to our new grill.

I love this place!!! My wife and I have been dealing with Guy at Thompsons Hearth and Home for a few months now and we absolutely love our experience with them every time we go in!!! Guy and Nicole are always a pleasure to deal with.
When we first bought our fireplace with them we had a small incident and something wasn't working right with the fireplace - truth be told I don't even think it was their fault - I'm pretty sure it was ours - never the less - they had their tech guy come out and fix it.
The process was painless and Guy didn't even charge us for it! The installation guys were clean
