Mano was fantastic. So knowledgeable about the heating system and did a thorough inspection of the air conditioning units. He also found an electrical problem which he videoed and showed me. We recently had a home inspection done on our 72 year old home in Redwood City and learned we had an enormous issue with crushed heating ducts underneath the house as well as in the attic. I called after reading some of the reviews of Degree HVAC and the history of the company. I needed help with determining the condition of water heater and other issues of our house in SF. I called and was immediately emailed an appointment date and it worked out. Then, Omar showed up and was professional, personable, answered my questions and was so pleasant. He was also incredibly knowledgeable and specific about the condition of the water heater, furnace, and whether or not we should have the ducts cleared. For a routine, overdue inspection, they checked CO at every floor register. They ran numerous trial runs to assess HVAC functionality. They isolated the faulty motor but got it to temporarily keep going until replacement arrives. They included the outdoor AC unit in their inspection. We started using them in 2003 and will continue, but in a more timely way.

I appreciated Omar's work ethic. He was very thorough and very professional. I would use Degree again only because of Omar. I was disappointed with the front office, I was quoted 165.00 for the work and my bill was 262.50. There needs to be more transparency regarding travel time from one job to the next. They don't tell you they charge for travel time upfront and then your bill is significantly more than they quoted over the phone.

Extremely responsive, a thorough write-up of our call (a couple of non-mandatory repairs were suggested, this way the next person doesn't have to start all over to understand what happened today).

I'm surprised to see such bi-polar reviews for Degree HVAC. I have had them out several times to work on a boiler, fallen ducts, and a tankless hot water heater. They also do plumbing, and today Tommy fixed a leaky bathtub faucet, replaced a laundry room faucet, and replaced an instant hot water dispenser. All three tasks in 2 hours at $160 per hour. An apprentice was along for no charge. I thought Degree did a great job, and they are my go to company. I was really thankful I tried their plumbing capabilities out today. They also answer all my questions. I hope your experience is as good as

I contacted this company because our HVAC system has failed. It's rather old, so we're looking into replacing it. I was able to get an appointment for an estimator to come out within a few days. He was late arriving, but he did show up. I went through the system and what we were looking for and he said he'd get back to me with options and numbers within two days. 4 years ago Degree installed an AC unit for my inlaw unit. Several weeks ago I called in to get service and they came right out. I was told they charged the unit and added dye but it was fixed. $500. Next heat wave no AC for my 93 year old mother in law. Saturday call and another $500. Charged again. Following monday they charged and discovered the condensor was bad. Waiting for 3 weeks for new warranty part. No call back and apparently no one there cares. Was happy not so much any more. BTW it is a carrier unit not some junk.

The heating in my office was down for 2 weeks, every other HVAC company I called either flaked or was not interested. The Degree tech went out there and got the job done. He went up on the roof and explained how everything works, and also fixed the heating in my neighbor's office. I was lucky to get a same-day appointment since they had a cancellation.

Customer comes first? Not for these guys. Expect high prices, and they have no qualms about playing hard ball to get what they want. After already spending ~$800 with Degree HVAC for parts replacements and diagnosis, I asked if they could replace the control board for my furnace, but they refused to do it unless I committed to a $3k project to install additional air vents and improve ducting. My general contractor could do the same work for a fraction of their cost, so I just wanted to get the control board replaced (they had the part) so I could get heat back asap. With my luck my ac broke during the nice heat wave right before 4th of July weekend so I left a message for HVAC, but decided to call again since I was a bit impatient and received a missed call (wasn't them after all - oops) and spoke to Jeff.
