In short, peace of mind. A home's sewer line is no more immune to the ravages of time than any other part of its structure. When sewer lines fail repairs start in the low thousands and end in low earth orbit. A proactive approach can allow the time needed to secure reasonable bids from reputable companies, a time proven technique which routinely results in savings in the thousands.
Lighthouse Sewer Inspection is an "inspect-only" company. This sets us apart from the vast majority of plumbing/sewer companies which offer remote inspection primarily as a means of securing repair work. We do not root, trench, line, burst, hydrojet or perform any service other than an independent and unbiased appraisal of your sewer.
Our state of the art camera and location technology paired with over a decade of home building experience guarantees you recieve the best possible interpretation of the data. Whether you are a prospective buyer on a fact finding mission, a prospective seller readying your property for market, or simply a homeowner in need of answers to a recurring sewer line issue, you will find our service clean, courteous, reliable and informative.

It takes some strenuous mental gymnastics to imagine a more costly home repair than what potentially lurks in a major side sewer failure. The tally is not limited simply to the replacement of the line and all that this may entail - jack hammering floors, trenching yards, removing decks, cutting driveways and streets, etc. - but can include the possibility of waste water destabilizing foundations or flooding living spaces.
Much is made of the pre-purchase inspection, and for good reason. Less, however, has been made of the wisdom of having a home inspected prior to placement on the MLS. We believe this is a mistake. Do we have a vested interest in holding this position - sure - but here is our argument, see if you don't agree.
Buying, selling, or simply maintaining - the answer to whatever your sewer may need likely begins with the unbiased opinion of a professional inspector using state of the art optics and recording equipment. Lighthouse Sewer Inspection is such a service. It's all we do. And because we provide no other services we have no interest in turning molehills into mountains - and then charging you to have us climb them.
Here's the difference. State of the art equipment run by unbiased operators do not allow for such a price-point. This means your fifty buys one of two things: bias or errors. As for the former, the only inspectors with quality equipment who offer sewer scopes for next to nothing are those who work for sewer repair companies.
