I bugged the heck out of these guys this summer as I had an issue with water clarity.
They (Matt?) patiently tested my water (numerous times), offering suggestions along the away. We tried everything (and it all made sense to me - they weren't trying to upsell chemicals.)
Their final thought was to "drain and replace" a good amount of water - and it worked.
Granted that I bought a few items from them, but the real value was their expertise, which they graciously provided for free.

I don't ever give a 5 star reviews to anyone, that's just me!
Long story short, this guy George Kazdin, is smarter than most. Certainly smarter than me, but not in a condescending way. He is a bit rigid, but in the end, very much welcomed. He knows what he is going every which way but loose. How many people can build a pool from scratch, create the patio and not be disappointed along the way? Weather, juggling crews, it all comes with the turf. This company is top shelf, they deliver. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I am happy to provide a reference & in person site visit to anyone thinking of

I wish I had read the reviews before choosing Kazdin to open my 20400 gal pool.Located on the nearby main road and my husband did professional work for them,we thought Kazdin was reliable and up to date and honest. Opening pool took over 3 weeks and was expensive but many companies are for this service.The problem was that the pool was not crystal clear when declared so by a worker who was not communicative and did not inspire confidence. It quickly turned cloudy and then green.After calling them about this issue which I thought was related to the pool opening they apparently came several times

The people at Kazdin are very helpful and informative. I bring samples of my pool and hot tub water and they give me an extremely clear and detailed computer read out of exactly what I should do to fix the immediate problem and how to take care of things on a long term basis as well. Unlike other pool stores in the area, they seem happy to help with this and don't charge for this service even when you don't need to buy anything. They're a real asset.

Too expensive and you don't know what you're paying for. They give you a 'quote', promise to let you know what things will cost before they do the job - they don't!! - then you get a massive bill. Outrageous business practice. And when you call, they often don't call back and then they argue with you when you finally reach someone to explain what's going on. Business was better run when George and his wife ran it; down the tubes since.

Not only are they the most expensive pool company in the Hamptons they would not do a warranty repair on a pool pump that they had installed less than two years ago. I was told that they were too busy and I needed to wait for another pool company to do the work. This was actually a good thing because the other company was so much better. After they finished installing the pool we passed inspection but since they never closed out the building permit when they finished the job we had to take out a new permit which we had to pay for again and get a new inspection. They also wanted to charge me $600

These guys are always expensive, even when compared to other Hamptons pool companies. But what prompts this posting is that they installed a new pool heater a few years ago - but never checked to see if it operated correctly. It did not because there was not enough gas getting to the heater. Unfortunately we knew there was a problem, but it took years to identify.
To top it all off, they refused to repair the heater after the gas line was upgraded. We assume that they are afraid that the initial low gas problem may have caused subsequent problems.

I can't speak for the actual pool and spa service this business offers, but I can comment on the professionalism of their employees. I was nearly run off the road by a Kazdin truck on Montauk highway. This reckless driver taught my 4 year old some choice profanities (screaming them out of his window) as he nearly turned into my car. If their employees are a reflection of this business, I would think twice before trusting them.
