First and foremost, John is a family man who has been married to his wife, Melanie, for 22 years. He enjoys hunting/fishing, BBQing and golfing, as well as sponsoring and coaching youth sports. John was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas and attended Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management from the College of Engineering.
After being fast-tracked from Project Manager to Director of Operations, it became clear that creating his own business and leading others was necessary. Baron Contracting was established in 2006 with the mission to become a "Class A" Commercial General Contractor in Kansas City, providing a level of service and quality that did not exist.
His vision to build a legacy of excellence within the industry and throughout individual communities remains the same today. He has strong ties to the local community and his past and present board terms include many local non-profit organizations such as The American Red Cross, Kansas City's Entrepreneurs' Organization and the YMCA.

Baron Contracting is the best contracting organization our firm has ever worked with. They handle every project with the same level of care, no matter how big or small. Baron has done small tenant finish projects, all the way up to complete buildings for us, and leave no details unfinished. John, Jeff and their team have a meticulous eye for detail, holding their subcontractors to a higher level of standard than other General Contractors. Baron Contracting has been partnering with SumnerOne to support our Operation Breakthrough event for many years. Each year SumnerOne takes underprivileged kids to a Kansas City Chiefs football game. Not only do we provide tickets but we tailgate, face paint, play games and provide an entire day of fun. Baron Contracting is not only willing to support this event with a donation, but they're on hand all day to help serve food, set up tents and seating. They make sure the kids have a great time.
