Keefrider Custom Furniture is a collaborative workshop in Santa Barbara, California, owned and operated by Jay and Sirie Keefrider. Together we make it our mission to handcraft heirloom quality furniture tailored to our clients, designed to be loved and lived in for decades, even generations, to come.
People often ask us what style of furniture we build. We tend to agree with the Dutch designer Anton Beeke: "Having a style is like being in jail." One of the most enriching parts of being a custom workshop is that we are constantly being challenged to expand our aesthetic perspectives and techniques.
Not only does this keep our work in the shop fresh and engaging, but it also allows us to use our broad range to work with our clients to create a piece that is uncompromisingly designed and crafted for each unique person and space. Services
This is our general design and build process for custom projects. To order an existing Keefrider design, or to inquire about special projects please contact us. In this first meeting we'll go over the general concept of your design to get a feel for what you're looking for. If you have inspiration images, dimensions etc. bring those along, but if you're starting from scratch that's fine too.
Time to grab a glass and kick up some sawdust in the Keefrider Workshop! We'll be opening the studio for the evening as part of Santa Barbara's 1st Thursday Artwalk, and serving up our homemade Apple Pie Ginger Beer along with gorgeous local woodcraft for everyone on your list this year. Top notch design carpenters. I described what I wanted built, they presented designs for it, then built it to my specifications. They are true Master Carpenters. I have been practicing carpentry all of my life and have built some fairly complex pieces myself, but did not have the time for this one. Since I build things myself, I can see the finer details of their work and respect their skill and attention to detail. You might not see all of those details, but you will experience the difference in the sturdiness of the construction and the precision in all of the seams and joints. I highly recommend

We used Keefrider Custom Furniture for a large project of ours in Santa Barbara, they were incredible to work with, and was an overall positive experience. The job involved plenty of on-site work, to which they were professional, trustworthy and represented us well to our clients. We would absolutely use their services again for future projects.

Keefrider built a camping platform that fits inside the back of my truck and creates a level surface when the back seats are folded down. They were awesome to work with and explained everything clearly and accurately every step of the way. I highly recommend going to them for any kind of practical or creative project where you have an idea about what you're looking for but need someone who has the talent and experience to carry out the creative vision.
