My husband and I dropped by HLF this evening and had an amazing experience here. A sales rep, Sean H, spent over an hour with us explaining the ins and outs of all things with gas fireplaces. I learned SO much! We have been to multiple other gas fireplace showrooms and this was by far the best place we’ve been. Sean was very friendly and professional. I paid over $11,000 for installation of two fireplaces. The Fairfax County Inspector failed one of the installations.
Its' four months later and Home Living Fireplaces still has not completed the installation of that fireplace.
When I call them they tell me they'll finish the job soon. They've been paid so they have no incentive to complete the job. They have no integrity

Was told parts no longer exist for gas fireplace in a home we just purchased. Was cautioned not to use until they could service it. Was not leaking into the room when I had another company assess it. Also, a seal could be made instead of having to purchase a $15K to $28K replacement. Great of selection of new fireplaces - and this is their area of focus-'find somebody else for regular maintenance IMHO.

I recently contacted Home Living Fireplaces to have our ventless gas fireplace inspected for the fall/winter season. Peter expertly arranged for my inspection service for my desired date/timeframe. On the day of the inspection, the technician John, (JD), arrived on time. JD did an outstanding job in inspecting/servicing our fireplace. He carefully removed all the logs, throughly vacuumed the fire box and components, replaced all batteries and tested the operation of the fireplace. If you're in the market for an outdoor kitchen design I would highly recommend HomeLiving fireplace! I prefer making big purchases in person. It was a concern they might not have tons of inventory to see but I was wrong. They have a tons of options to choose from. I was able to see different outdoor kitchen islands as well as grilles on display at the showroom. Beautiful beautiful display!

Price is stunningly expensive $19k for a basement non-vented fireplace with ridiculous up charge on gas line extension beyond 10 feet of $1700 at end of deal. Most definitely a monopolist gas company price gauging but they are the only game in town.

We had a good experience with Homeliving Fireplaces and our salesman, Peter. They converted our old wood-burning fireplace to gas with a gas insert and did a great job. Their gas line installer came out promptly, gave us a proposal for running a new line, and installed it fairly shortly after we approved the proposal. The next day, an electrician was out to install an outlet in the fireplace for the insert. The installer for the insert did a nice job and explained all the operations to us. For three units, one being an outdoor firepit and one being a wall mount gas unit plus our living room unvented system, we were charged a whopping $628. This was their rate for a service call! The firepit did not require service, just instruction on how to turn on properly (no break given for novice users, thanks a lot!), and the downstairs unit needed batteries in the remote. So you tell me, does a charge of over $600 sound justified? The main unit has a faulty valve and requires a replacement which we cannot do because the unit is too old and the part is not available. So we are out the money

We had a great experience with Home Living Fireplace. We had an unusual fireplace we inherited with the house and have wanted to change it for years but didn't know where to start. We now have a beautiful family room gas fire place that makes the room! Peter was so helpful in providing ideas and seeing the project through from the installation of the gas line to the fireplace to coming back to assure the finished product was done right. We took the original wall out and replace the whole wall and fireplace. The stone work was done beautifully! Before and after photos.

After weeks and weeks of waiting and calling the office about pricing and ordering, he never got back with us.

I had this company work on a custom gas fire installation. I paid the $200.00 service call fee and then paid them almost $2,000.00 to replace the ignition/sparker which is controlled remotely.
Their tech man, Vince, could not get the gas valve to open to ignite the flame and suggested that I might be low on propane. After filling the tank and confirming there is gas in the line it still does not light.
I called the manager and I just got a message from

Had them quote me on a fireplace insert to convert my wood burning fireplace to gas. Quote came out to around 3k which they explained would include the unit, installation, permits, everything.
The day of the install they are a no show. I had to drive to their store front (because they also don't answer the phone or messages) to find out where the installer was. I really don't know why there are bad reviews. The first time I used them they came to install a remote control for my gas fireplace which my cheap home builder didn't provide because it was "builders grade" and they did a great job and now I dont have to turn on a light switch everytime to turn it on and off. Today, Bryan came to do a service on my fireplace and did a great job and explained everything thoroughly. I didn't remember the companies number so I looked on the remote that they installed. I will be using them again.

I had a fireplace installed - it was a replacement for the builders grade one installed when I moved in.
I have no complaints at all. Arrived as scheduled and completed the install without any problem. The fireplace looks and works great.
