Sometimes a sketch or a memory can be just as powerful as the real thing. For the stone cottage, an idea was born with a simple request to bring Tuscany back home to California.
Kirley+ was asked to design this completely authentic and custom home in the spirit of its Tuscan heritage, a process that started with extensive research into the ancient Italian building methods that created the vernacular homes, barns and villas that touch the hearts of so many.At the core of this project lies its completely unique materials sources from all over the globe.

Commissioned by an active family of five, we were asked to create a new Farmhouse Compound on a property long owned by the family. Located among rolling hills, the site posed a number of challenges including significant ledge, slope and strong seasonal winds. These proved to be a small price to pay for arguably some of the best views in the valley.
We believe beautiful drawings ultimately result in exceptional projects. The use of architectural watercolor renderings is key to our design process, these renderings help to us align with our client's design vision from the earliest stages of a project. Top Interior Design Trends of 2020: From Home Offices to Two-Tone Kitchens. Kirley+ was featured for our San Francisco Cole Street Project for one of the top design trends of 2020. Kirley+ Architecture and Colling Design + Build executed the build-out of the 120-seat space with Greek-inspired interiors pulled together by two firms, Eden Wright Design and Mokume Design.
