Coke was just five cents, hamburgers were only twenty-five cents and E. C. Henningsen along with his son T. G. Henningsen decided to start a "seal coat" and asphalt paving business in Atlantic, Iowa. Quite an undertaking today or in 1949 at just 49 and 22 years of age. Today, Henningsen Construction, Inc. is still based in Atlantic, Iowa and has grown to over 150 employees and 350 pieces of equipment.
At Henningsen Construction our licensed professionals provide a variety of concrete services from commercial to agricultural and residential. New construction or removing and replacing the old we have the knowledge, crews, and equipment to handle the job. Echco Concrete has plants located in Corning and Atlantic, Iowa. Echco Concrete serves Adams County, Cass County, and surrounding areas with a modern fleet of ready mix concrete trucks. Whether a single short load or multiple truck deliveries, we work hard to meet every customers expectations through quality ready mix concrete designs, attentive customer service, and on time delivery.
We got our start in the same manner as many other businesses, the Building Division of Henningsen Construction was born out of need. As our fledgling company was forming in the late 1940's it became apparent that it would need to expand. With no contractor around we took matters into our own hands and in 1950, with a group of asphalt workers, we built our first Quonset hut.
Tornadoes, high wind, and hail, these are all part of living and doing business in the Midwest. If and when disaster strikes, Henningsen Construction is here for you. We've been repairing damage to metal buildings for over 70 years, and our experts can have you back in business quickly and affordably.

Very poor with respecting peoples property while doing a job. My driveway was blocked by personal employees cars and construction trucks so my customers and myself couldn't get into the driveway. Turn around area's off the driveway was full of employee personal cars so it was totally unusable. The big construction trucks left huge puddles of oil in the driveway from there very poorly maintained trucks contaminating everywhere they go. Wait until they come to a area near you!
